: Warn M8000 vs. Mile Marker 9000 Electric winch
parrothead 09-29-2004, 06:51 PM I have a Warn M8000 and Mile Marker 9000 Electric winch. Both are new, but not too sure which one I want to keep. It will be going on the front of an XJ. I have done a search but it was mostly comparing the Hydro MM. I am going to keep one and sell the other to support my jeeping habit. Please advise.
TIA
deadandcompany 09-29-2004, 07:10 PM I'll buy either one. I would perfer the Warn, proven company! pm me when ready to sell.
tanman2003 09-29-2004, 09:25 PM warn has series wound motor, mile marker has permanent magnet. the series wound is a better motor design. :D id keep the warn
lsloth 09-30-2004, 07:23 AM I would keep both, mount one to the front and one to the back.
ghettojeep 09-30-2004, 01:29 PM Go warn, or go home. The warns a piece of gold, the mm is a piece of poo. if you keep one, keep the warn.

Tim84K10 09-30-2004, 08:11 PM Mine looks worse than that.
Worst POS I ever spent money on.

If someone wants my E-12000 send me a PM.
Only had weight on the cable four times.
Broke twice, I still haven't fixed it yet.
I have all the parts to fix it.
$300 and the POS is yours, roller fairlead and all. Come pick it up cause I'm not shipping it either.
Bill@setel.com 10-01-2004, 07:32 AM PM sent, Tim.
Also, I forgot to put in the PM - what's broken?? The winch or the cable?
Cheers
Bill
Tim84K10 10-01-2004, 01:40 PM broke the clutch lever clean off and it has a wire broken in the solenoid box, and i removed the cable from the winch.
Other that that it's fine....I'm just sick of fixing it. I should have bought a Warn.
ghettojeep 10-01-2004, 01:48 PM Yeah, gotta love that plastic clutch lever on the MM. LOL. Those gotta be great when your stuck in the snow and ice, then that little fawker breaks off cuz its brittle and cold.
XJ-Rob 10-03-2004, 12:29 PM I have a XD9000i that I bought second hand but still in the box, never used. The second time I used it it toasted, Warn wouldn't do a thing about it. Had a buddy get it covered under warrenty through his shop, when they sent it back they told him there was 12 things wrong with it, they pretty much had to rebuild the whole thing......He said he's seeing more and more of this with Warn, he supplies all the goverment rigs here.....If this brakes again I'll be looking at other options.
