Any one think this would work? I was thinking of possibly doing this so that I couyld shorten the wheelbase without having to chop the chassis on my F-150. Which seems like it would be more work?
Just trying to find out what is workable.

Like Welndmn said- the F150 cab is too wide. Have you considered a Ranger cab?
Now, an F150 cab on a fullsize Bronco works well. I think FordPowr on this BB has that set up and it works great.

I just did a search and found that FordPowr's rig is a shortened truck frame. Sorry for the missinformation.

If I remember the Bronco II and the EB have just about the same wheelbase so you can swap bodys and not have toi mess with wheelwells. seem like it would be easier.

My frame started out as a reg cab shorbed...and I shortened the wheelbase to about the same lenght as a fullsize bronco.
Putting a F150 cab on a EB chassis would be much more work, expensive and not be to effective even when done. The fullsize cab is way to wide for EB axles....and then you prob find the EB wheelbase to short.
It's pretty simple to just move the spring hangers forward on you existing frame, that's prob the easiest and cheapest way to shorten your wheelbase

Thanks guys. I didn't really concider the width at first, but now obviously I am.
FordPwr: I have an F-150 club cab, and I'm trying to get the wheelbase as short as possible, or close to about 115". My problem is the gas tanks. I was thinking about having a cage type thing built where one tank was on the bottom with a cage around it, and the other on top with a cage around that. Sound like a fesable idea? Or does there seem to you like I would be encountering to many problems?
Another thing, could I use the coils I have now with an EB front suspension set up? Or will I need new springs?

Get a fuel cell, and build a cage around it. You could move the spring perches and rear axle forward and cut out the wheel wells.

Yeah, that is what i was thinking of. I just don't want to have to mess with the electrical crap with the two tanks. Mostly because I have no clue what I would be doing. And there will be no bed, just the tank(s) and the cage. Will keep it only as wide as the chassis.

That's somewhat what I want to do. Except my truck is a club cab, so there would be no use for a bed. I will try and get a few sketches of what I am talking about, and send it to some one who's got a red star so they can post them for me.

why not use a full-size short box frame 115 or 117 inch wheelbase and use a full-size Bronco tank.It mounts rear of the axel and under the frame.or if you want put it ontop of the frame out of harms way. nice and simple so you can spend your time working on more important stuff :emb:
