Hi, I'm new to this board (although I've been lurking for a couple of weeks :D )

I'm 18 year old college student and live a little north of Anchorage AK...I know some of the people here are from AK and I was wondering where you guys get most of your parts from? I've had ok luck with Schuck's, but nobody else seems to be very helpful...I have a '76 FJ40, BTW.

My biggest 2 things right now are the wiring and the steering stabilizer...I'm an EE student, so you can guess that I'm already working to rewire and upgrade thw whole thing (on a college student's meager budget, of course :P)

But, I busted my auzillary steering stabilizer on a log in a friend's yard. Even Whatley out at Cruisers Only wasn't sure where I might be able to find another one. Anyone have any ideas about in-town parts?

Also, when is the annual Knik Landcruiser thing? And where might I go around here to get information on jaunts and stuff?

There is a place in Mt. View that may have one. Place is called Alaska Hot Wheels, on Mt. View drive. Sorry I don't have the Phone #. He has a small wharehouse in back of his shop with cruiser parts in it. HTH
