Hey guys... this is for a full size 1990 Chevy Blazer... 5.7 TBI...

I was told by some people that this engine runs "better" with the stock 195 thermostat in it. Others have told me it won't pass smog with the 180 in it... that it will run to rich with a 180 thermostat. I've always liked a cooler engine.

Does it really make a difference????

Thanks!

to get the engine up to operating temperature the computer gives a richer fuel mixture. if the truck is always at 180 degrees or less, the computer will think the engine has not warmed up fully and it will continue to run rich. TB.I likes to run hot. you can run a 180 but it will be using a lot more gas
