35" MTR's....

Whos running them? How do you like them? Tread wear? Performance on all different terrain?

I have them, but have only gone on a couple of runs with them. I do really like them though. They have been squeezed between the rim and rocks many times and haven't gotten a cut yet. The wear isn't great though because I am running a welded rear. They are great on the street too.

Just my opinion.

Well I can't say about 35's but I love my 33's. They have been awesome. As of right now I would not buy anything else.

35" MTRs are not 35" at all... they are much much closer to 34". if you want a good 35 that is IMO better than the MTR, just go Interco SSR and be done with it :D

SSRs suck ive seen way to many with sidewall issues to wast any money on them as far as 37 MTRs they kick ass in all types of terrain and in the snow at 1 lbs of air they cant be stopped

I don't have enough miles on them to comment on wear, but on the trail they are great.

fairly quiet, for a mud tire if that matters.

they do kick ass in snow when aired down, though I haven't tried 1psi yet:eek:

Im running SSR's right now, I like them, but 10k miles on the street is NOT my idea of a good tire for a daily driver....

I've seen and heard this about the 35s and the 37s.

ive got a set of 33" mtr's with 20k on em. tread depth is at 13/32" brand new they are 21/32's. id say they are doing pretty good. i love the fact that i can try and abuse these tires and nothing happens but my rims getting mangeled. irun 8-10psi with em on a 8" wheel. when i got them i did the old 2 finger test on a BFG MT, SSR, and MTR all 33's. the MTR's had the thickest sidewall of them all. the only time i have not made an obstacle was because i could not get them to dig like the TSL's that rooted up the hillclimb before me. get em you will love them.

As mentioned before, great tire on and off road. My 35's measure just under 34" aired up when new. I've heard the 37MT/R is around 36". Going to Las Cruces next month to test them out!

I had 35 MTRs for about a year. They are the best tires I have ever had. The only reason I don't have them on my rig anymore is, because I wanted a bigger tire and went with a 38.5sx. If they made a 38 or 39 MTR I would go back in a heart beat.:) They work better than the SXs on the rocks (Hammers tested) and are smooth on the street.

My buddy has been running 'em for a year. They worked great in Moab. Decent in the mud. and really good in SoDak aired down to 7psi. He cut up a side wall pretty good, so he went to the dealer and got a new one under warranty...although the tire monkey looked at the beatup rims sorta weird. Seems to wear well on the road, even with a locked rear. Lots of $$$ for a 35", though

Check out the price for 37s... is that a typo?

$206 for the 35's? wow that's pricy. I just got a quote of $159 each for the BFG KM 35's mounted, ballanced, road hazard. I'll see if they can get the MTR and what sort of price.
I have had good luck with the BFG's I have 20k on them on a old K5 that was still fulltime till last fall when I locked it both ends and regeared. Still about 50% tread left on them. Just need bigger is only reason I'm replacing them.

Tire Rack (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes.jsp?make=Goodyear&model=Wrangler+MT%2FR) - MT/R Pricing: $156 (35x12.50) $383 (37" R17)

Tread Depot (http://www.treadepot.com/) - $155 for the 35" MT/R

The Tire Rack also has the 37R17 BF K/M for $253, if you want a big street tire :rasta:

If you have a 4WheelParts near you, print that out and get them to match it. Then you don't have to pay shipping from either of these places.

hey

got a quote from Discount tire for $155.00 + $14.50 road hazard on 35" Mt/R's. That's $847.50 for 5, and if ya find u'm cheaper, they will match pricing -- almost the same price as BFG's. ($147.00)

The local GoodYear dealer wanted $1188.90 for 5 w/ Road hazard- they won't price match with anybody :flipoff2:

My local Sears would price match on the MT/Rs also.

I'd vote that MT/R's are the best on/off-road tire out right now. I've had mine for almost two years now and they hardly look worn, and my jeep is my DD. They're awesome on the rocks and they go anywhere in the snow. The only reason I would not run them in the future is to run a bigger tire and don't want to spend the $$$ on the 37" MT/R's. Hopefully they will come down in price soon.

The only thing that sucks about 35" MTR's is that I haven't used then on my wheeler yet. Have them mounted and waiting on my new axles!
I have seen them aired down to 4 psi. the side wall folded around on it self over a granite fin and the side wall showed no damage! nothing!

I like the 35s, but I would prefer 37s. Right now its just too much $$$ . The tires are quiet on the street. The side walls grip well.

I priced on tirerack.com, but had 4wheel parts price match.

How many times longer will the MT/R last compaired to a similar MT? I dont agree with the price of the 37's but if I think about it this way I may beable to bring myself to paying for them.

I would love the 37's like most people out there, but is just way too much. I can't believe the way things are going that no one has come out with MT's in 37's at a reasonable price. I was considering SSR's, but sounds like they burn up on the street pretty quick... not sure how the TSL's will fare but at least then I hopefully won't be on the side of the road or trail with a shot sidewall.
