: More stolen stuff in Placerville!!!!!
Last night or the night before, Hangtown Extreme off-road got robbed!!!!! What I remember from the conversation was that the Fabers front 60 was taken, some wheels and tires and a carb from a vehicle, forget what else was taken, but the fact is that these guys jumped the fence and got in and took this stuff, I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE WE HAVE AROUND HERE, anyways, people beware, they are out there, and they are on a roll. Lock it up out of sight, and out of harms way.

Maybe the cops should check the local hospitals for a couple of guys with back injuries....
Seriously though, can the anything be identified?
H8monday 01-31-2002, 08:13 AM Some theiving bastards hit my construction job site last night.
They must have fabricated a tool that can reach into the lock covering on storage bins and grab the lock then ratchet it open. They hit 5 tool bins containers, and all of the locks(variouse brands and designs) were laying on the ground, with shackles busted out of them and the housings destroyed.
The Carpenters got hit hardest, they are from out of town,(Oregon), and all of their personal tool bags were also in their bin. They lost absolutely every tool they had.
This is gonna be a long day.

StinkBug 01-31-2002, 11:42 AM Shit like this pisses me off. Just last night i picked my GF up from work and she told me someone went into the employee break room and grabbed her bag and stole her wallet and her new camera she got for christmas. One of the other employees found the rest of the bag in the trash in the mens room. Guess they figured they couldnt make it out with a big ass pink bag and just took the $$$ stuff. Fawkin Bastards.

What the fuck??
Why do you encourage people to steal if your PuertoRican?
How the hell can beer, and pot justify stealing anything off of someone elese rig?
How is 4x4 swag any more important than anything else that a person works hard to aquire.
Without a very good explanation of your thought on this matter, I would have to say, I wouldnt trust you, around my neighborhood, let alone welcome you into my house or garage.

okcrawler 02-01-2002, 08:05 AM A local 4x4 shop had a set of 44" Boggers and wheels stolen off a customers jeep. A year later the SOB thief had the balls to show up at a local run with the tires and wheels on his Jeep! The wheels were one of a kind custom and recognized shortly after he arrived. The word spread quickly and a group cornered him on the rocks and would not let him leave! The sheriff and local cops arrived and jumped on us for cornering the bastard. We called the owner to ID the wheels, then the cops impounded the thief's Jeep and sent him home. The next day they found out he was on parole and the trailer he left with was stolen!
They finally did catch up to him. After finding a chop shop at his house and thousands of dollars of stolen 4x4 parts. Including almost every part on that d@m Jeep. They prosecuted him on federal charges since he has sold some of the stuff out of state. I never heard how many years he got, but hopefully we'll never see that SOB's face around here again!
It's a small community! Get the word out, because those parts will show up somewhere......
Okay I ran into one of the Faber boys and he told them those guys had to of been there for awhile because they had to move a whole truck out of the way to get to the 60, then they somehow he didn't know, got the 60 out, then they stole wheels and tires, and had enough time to work on an engine and take the carb off with all the lines and everything. I'll go and talk to Jeff (owner) today and get the full story.
Monkeyboy 02-01-2002, 09:32 AM 4x4shops in small towns shouldn't have to put up security cameras:( but it looks like that is the direction things are going.
Well maybe the cameras can have a second purpose.

Radbassist 02-01-2002, 12:46 PM Sorry about the inside job thing but when things don't make sense, you have to look for the obvious. Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers but........The good news is...........I have cameras, I can get them in a clock, a plant, a 360 degree smoke detector (all actually work except for the plant:) ) ETC. Time lapse recorders can figure it out.........Let me know if I can help.....It's what I do for a living.:usa:

That's one thing the east coast has to it's advantage, a very limited amount of tweeks. I lived in Phoenix(glass capital of the world) for 6months, and tweaks are crazy. One cut the back window of my friends jeep open, took a Yankees ballcap, a dirty ass pair of sneakers, and left about 200 cds.
Johann 02-04-2002, 11:03 AM Could the wheels they stole have fit the 60? If so they might have slapped them on an rolled it to their getaway vehicle.

That's what I was thinking. Some type of a crane or something can reach over a fence. Just put a winch on there and it can pick it up no problem.
up here in the NW we have stopped advertising our progress and picture links as a rash of "very well built" rigs have been stolen right after they were completed. so watch what you post about your rig. especially on places like this, i mean i am member 4 thousand something....... cranksters can read this board as well.:nuke: id sure like to run into a thief someday just to see what a mildmannerd guy is capable of, i do carry weapons though......
Bigtoy22 02-04-2002, 06:28 PM welcome to the club, little bastards hit my truck thurs/fri and got over 4K worth the tools.
Well I talked to the owner Jeff and he told me the whole story. Guess the guys made a hole in the fence on one side, then they started to go through and see a lot of good stuff. So they got some bolt cutters and cut the lock off on a side gate. They used a jack to take the 35" off a land Crusier, and then they used a floor jack to move around the vehicles and then they used a cherry picker to get the dana 60 out and they loaded into the truck then took the cherry picker. They also took many toyota t-cases, carbs, intakes, air cleaner, etc. Fact is that they moved around many things that would take time, these thiefs were there for awhile and got what they wanted.
But I belive these theives screwed up. This past friday in Placerville again, some of my friends were coming back from eating dinner, they pull up to my buddies shop FLEX 4WD only to find a mysterious blue lifted ford, Right then two guys scrambled to get to the truck, one coming from Caspers muffler and hitch and the other from one side of my buddies new Dodge truck. These guys had been in the process of stealing stuff from Caspers and tried breaking into my buddies truck. My buddies then gunned it in their 02' chevy silverado on 20's, and went after the crooks. They sped down hwy 50 going about 100 mph(damn chevy governer) and they went down crossing the center divide 5 times, the ford almost rolled everytime, but my friends finally just went balls out and he climed out the window of the chevy and beat on the fords door and demanded them to pull over. In fear for thier lives they pulled over and my friends called the sheriffs, in the time they waited the thieves tried to bribe my friends with all the stuff they stole and 200 bucks, they laughed at them and the sheriffs impounded the truck and hauled them away. Guess what, 18 year old from Placerville and 19 year old from Sacramento, but this is where they messed up, there was blue paint found at the scene of the Hangtown extreme shop and they are going to try to color match it to the blue ford. That is all the info I have for now.
Big Rich 02-04-2002, 09:38 PM I surely hope the paint matches, and to think they are old enough to print the names in the paper:D these fawkers are into some deep dodo.
we can only hope, they talk and bring down their fence to.

I know what you mean. These guys steal somebody's stuff and they sell it for almost nothing just to get a little bit of cash as fast as possible. They don't realise how harmful they're stealing is to a small business. But its just a couple days worth of drugs to them.
SHERPA 02-05-2002, 06:08 AM even if the sheriff's dept, or the area judge let's them off lightly,
once their names are "known", you can assume their life in and

they still have the big tree that they used to hang people on next to the courthouse? they outta hang em and leave them on display to all the other thieves out there.
yes im bitter towards thieves as my house has been broken into 8 times in two years. i live in a good neighborhood. its just im single, work everyday, and have lots of toys. im sure its the local teenagers in the neighborhood. now i have a big loud dog and it seems to have stopped. i also installed video cameras around the yard. by what they take im pretty sure its teenage boys.
SHERPA 02-05-2002, 08:07 AM It might be "entrapment", but you could act like you're going
out of town for the entire weekend, fake-pack up your rig, drive
it to a friends house, then walk home at night soon after. then,
keep most of the lights down low, drapes closed all the time,
TV kept quiet... basically fake like you're gone. keep an eye
out......take the dog to a kennel for a couple days.. try and
catch them....
and if you're wondering, what the hell would you do during
all this time?? do your taxes..... read a book..... clean the
house, etc....

Can somone explain what Tweeks and cranksters are?
I imagine that Cranksters are prolly dope addicts?
Coz if so - to whom / how are they fencing this stuff?
Reson I ask is - who the fawk is buying this stolen stuff? That's where we need to concentrate our efforts. There isn't time to beat and kill all the thieves (pleasant as that might be)...but what we need to do is dry up the market .....

Dont think it'll work dude. There will always be people who will buy hot items cause of the low ball deal.
Cranksters, tweekers are drug addicts that thier drug of choice is methamphetamine, commonly called crank. its a slow but sure drain of every moral and decency that was put into you by your parents. many of my friends have lost thier normal lives due to crank. they wonder why i dont associate with them any more. pot heads are not in the same category. just read the papers pot heads dont kill and steal stuff. the worst thing they might do is eat everything in the fridge and fall asleep on the couch. in my opinion crack cocaine and crank are the two worst drugs available and do the most harm to society. of course tobacco and alcohol are actually the two worst but they are not illegal.....
do you feel enlightened about the undercultur of america now?

It's only entrapment if you "encourige or entice" somebody to do something they would'nt have done on there own. In other words, just putting something out in the open is not entrapment:D
you can sell anything on ebay.

That was too funny, not for John and Mark but the way the whole "round up the wagons" thing went down. When he says they had him cornered that is an understatement, he was totally fawked with the options of waiting an being cornered or being run down by some pissed of guys on 44"s. I can kinda see why the sheriff wasn't too happy, at that time the POS was still assumed inocent.
I wish I had that scene on tape.
