I'm starting to get excited about the upcoming CALROCS deal East of Victorville. I'm part of the Lions Club in Lucerne Valley that owns the property. I think most of you will find that the Lions are real friendly and helpful when you get there. Most are older folks and don't have a clue about Rock Crawling. I showed them part of a video taken at Amador and they were amazed.
As previously quoted, they don't believe anybody can take a vehicle up those canyons. Being somewhat familiar with the hammers, i can't wait myself. These are BIG rocks. I wont say much more about the property, because Rich will be making announcements about it soon. Most of the time it is a firing range, and most of the Lions are shooters and heavy on the 2nd amendment types. We offered to make the competition more interesting by providing covering fire over the competitors, but Rich declined.
Because i am involved in wheelin and crawlin, i have been appointed "chairgeezer" by the Lions for this event. So...if anybody needs anything before, during, or after the event. (except beer, women), let me know. I live a couple miles from the property and will be there throughout the event. We Lions are looking forward to this. (BTW..i am Desertoy's dad)

Huge thanks go out to the Lions for letting this event occur on their property.
I think it's very cool that such an established civic group is getting involved in supporting our sport/hobby/lifestyle. If the event goes over anything like the Amador event I'm sure the Lions will be pleased! :)

Always so many questions.........until we get permission from the BLM, the only camping will be by the competitors. There is not enough property for everyone and just the competitors and staff will make it very tight. So please be patient, more information will be coming soon. I'll be listing campgrounds, motels etc. shortly.
Thanks

Regarding camping at the park..i think Rich will have most of it taken up with competitors, their stuff, and vendors. He is the best source for this. However there are several campgrounds within a few miles of the park. I have been talking to the BLM about the Dry Lake, but it doesnt' look good for camping. We probably can use it for overflow parking, but not camping.
We have to consider the "Fairy Shrimp" you know..also if it has rained anytime recently. it is a muddy mess. I am working on the parking and camping issues; stay tuned. Might even be able to put a few in my horse arena. I drink Coors Light.

Thanks for all the kind words..we really are looking forward to this event. Also I offered to let John (Desertoy) go out there and practice. It just has to be on a Saturday when the range is open so we shooters can get in a little practice as well..:flipoff2:
