yeah that show is really good. Man, some of those guys are SOO talented. Did you see the one where they built monster trucks? It was pretty cool. I also saw one where they built a boat using a LR D110 frame.

it helps to have a stocked junkyard also. not to many yards i have seen have brand new firestone monster truck tires laying around. seems as everymotor in the yard works to.

They dont actually get 10 hours do they? Those things they buils are way to advanced to be built in 10 hours. Wish I could build stuff like that in 10 hours:(

If I had the tools they have. I could build something in ten hours.
Air tools speed things up alot. I want one of those cordless saw all. :D :D :D

The Sammy or "little Jeep" as they called it, would have done better if they aired down..
Not to many brain cells there.

I was pretty pumped when they said they were building hill climbers, but after watching the show it wasn't very exciting.
I guess that you can only stuff so much into an hour show, but they really focused on some of the cheesier aspects of the "build"

I was thinking the same thing, weld the diffs on both trucks and flatten the tires, what do you know, simple and works. Oh well.

I agree, i thought they should have welded the diffs of both vehicles, and lowered the psi on the lil sammi...

Also, i wanted to know how they got a front wheel drive engine to work on that samuri, without using the engines stock front axle drive system

They did use it. The left axle drove the front, the right axle drove the rear... Or vice versa.

STUPID idea. :D What's a sammi diff stock, 3.73? So that made an overdrive gear of 0.75:1 into 2.79:1... Which is probably 1st gear on that tranny... ROFL Great for crawlin', but as everyone said, since they didn't air down, they were just spinnin'.

On the flipside, that Ford rocked ass. :D

...BUT...

...HOW THE FUCK DO YOU STEER A TRACKED VEHICLE without some kind of brake on each side???

EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING,

i would have welded the diffs then just welded the angle iron dirrectly to the rim and takes advatage of all that horse power

Me too. That track was a waste of time since the only part of it that would have contact or pressure on the ground would be the part under the tire. If you had more wheels on one side like a tank it would have worked ok. I think they should have just ran either bolts through the tire flattened them and made sure they stay on the rim or welded a u piece on the rims for a traction bar. Plus welding the diffs. When are they going to learn V-8 power rules!! The guys are good but at the same time they are moron's. Spend to much time on worthless stuff.

And i hate how the extperts are a bunch of pussies that don't have any real experience making something from parts you would actually find in a junkyard. People from this board would be 10x better and moe useful that any of the experts i have ever seen on that show.

if i was participating i would tell the expert to take a hike

Almost every week they booger this engine onto that tranny without any adapters, to say nothing of driveshaft length changes when they start screwing around like that.
What gives?
Oh yeah - absolutely should have welded the diffs (at least rear) and aired down.

I think most of the time with the lack of adapters they just weld the shafts together. Also remember that 90% of chevy stuff will bolt together without adapters.

I do agree there is a lot that is over looked

I was kind shocked when my kid and his friends were watching that little thing go up the hill and spin its tires right away and one of em said hey why didnt he weld the front and rear up & let some air out?? They must listen to me after all when I talk wheeling to em and take em on trail runs.....oh yea!!:D
