: Official say hello to the Chevy Forum and general BS thread.
CumminsK5 01-02-2002, 10:16 PM Just wanted you all to know Ive joined this board like so many other CK5ers. I was gettin tired of all fluff and BS that goes on in there. Hopefully someday itll be back like it was, but for now this board seems a lot better. Oh and BTW, my screen name on CK5 is BlueBlazer62, but im putting a Cummins diesel in my K5, so I thought this name was more fitting. Later
ChevyGal 01-03-2002, 02:02 AM Who you calling "fluff" newbie? LOL
Welcome aboard, please keep your hands and arms inside the car at all time..... and don't piss :roxy: off..... :D
jekbrown 01-03-2002, 08:54 PM oh brother. I dunno what CK5 was like in the "old days" (ie more than 2 years ago), but I *do* know that it is a GREAT place to get info/help for any problem one might have. I have learned so much there its silly. Pirate is good because it covers all kinds of off-road vehicles and stuff...but if you are a dedicated Jimmy/Blazer fan like myself (damn the j33ps!!), CK5 is where its at. Hell, Stephen Watson decided to have a forum there, I think that says it all. =p

scoobydann 01-03-2002, 09:49 PM Welcome fawkin newbie and a :flipoff2: to you
2Dogs 01-03-2002, 10:09 PM Yeah. And a double :flipoff2: :flipoff2: to you!
We are all fawkin newbies. Ha.
jbear 01-04-2002, 01:03 AM The big change in CK5 is all the newbies over there. There are a lot of posts that get put up over and over again. Also it was easier to go through all the messages when there were only a few people on there and it seem tighter, like you knew everyone. Lately, there have also been a bunch of whiners posting things like "we need to be #1 in the poll of the day" or "don't cut up that 4x4". Just my $.02.

white knight 01-04-2002, 08:56 AM two good boards with different styles
CK5 is GOOD , so is this one
and by the way.......:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
jbear 01-04-2002, 11:36 AM Man you guys are slow. I figgured I would have gotten that right away. Anyway, yes I finaly registered over here, too.
"and don't piss :roxy: off"
the only way to even meet Roxy is to play in the 'Fluff' zone,
so I would say I understand prexactly what he is talkin bout
BlazzinOR 01-04-2002, 01:12 PM Cummin's in your K5? Wow, gotta keep us posted on this..........I would love to explore that down the road on another project.

It's a joke... ha ha ha laugh some Mike sheesh.... :D
CumminsK5 01-04-2002, 09:34 PM Thanks for the, uh, welcome. Anyway, yeah, what jbear said is kinda how I feel, but I do agree its still a great site with a lot of great people. I just bought the Cummins yesterday. Its a 94 motor out of a rolled over Dodge. Im rebuilding it in school and at the same time doing a few modifications to it ( they are an easy motor to get a lot of power out of ). I just need a Dodge NV4500 and first gen Dodge 205 and Ill be all set to bolt it in. Ive got a source for motor mounts and I can fabricate my own engine crossmember ( needed to clear the oilpan ). Since my truck is a diesel now the fuel and cooling system are already sufficient. Its not gonna be too hard of a project, just lots of money to be saved. I plan on it being done in a year or so. Later
thatK30guy 01-04-2002, 10:26 PM And a triple :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2: to you!!
jekbrown 01-06-2002, 01:04 AM well, i know it takes a super-human intelligence to do this, but what I do is just never click on a message with a subject line that makes it clear that its a simple question or something I'm not interested in. Revolutionary idea, I know. There are noobs on every site...and quite frankly we are all noobs at one point so we shouldnt be so damn intolerant. Just MO.
As far as being small and knowing everyone...I guess thats one way to look at things. Personally I like a 4x4 site with a forum to have LOTS of members...makes it much more likely that someone out there will have some info you need should you have a question. Again, just MO.
happy wheelin,
J
jbear 01-06-2002, 11:15 AM Well, that is fairly obvious. It does get irritating to see the same 20 posts all the time. There is a search function on ck5 and it works good. YOU wanted to know what the difference was between now and then, so don't get bent out of shape when I tell you.
Grim Reaper 01-07-2002, 12:32 PM Look it's a fawkin Newbie convention! :flipoff2:

KCK5er 01-08-2002, 10:11 AM Sure does Dave ..
Depdog 01-08-2002, 10:27 AM Jbear, I have been reading some, but there is no sense in me answering if there are already 30 replys to the posts. I am kinda burnt out on 4x4's right now. Will get back into after a while. I need a Dana 60 front and 14 bolt rear to go one ton. I am tired of blowing ujoints in the front axle and them taking out the axle shafts.
Went to a club meeting last night for the first time in 3 months. Been busy as hell too.

Yup still got 'em. I'll be borrowing a digital camera in the next couple days to get some pics of them. I really do need to get them, and a few other things, sold so I can get a few more goodies for my new engine.

Although, it's been a while since I've owned a "carburated" vehicle. I forgotten how exciting it is to get a cold truck started with a carb. :)

Hi, Cory here. I'm learning all about "how to" on replying and posting, etc. on this site. Just a newbie!
I'm a Chevy man. I have 5 trucks now. Three don't run. Just minor stuff, like one needs a tranny, one needs a motor, the other needs a loose nut behind the wheel!
My main and daily driver is a K5 Blazer. It's underpowered by a 305. I also have a K30, but that's more a work truck than anything else. My other main truck is the K10, but that's the one that needs a new transmission.
So, nice to meet everyone and hope to learn more on this site. So far, it seems to be a pretty good and informative site.
Rip DeLips 02-22-2002, 09:06 AM May as well introduce myself here, I guess?????
I'm Rip from Raleigh NC. You guys are probably gunna kick my ass cause I drive an old beat up Isuzu Trooper, but I've got some pretty cool Chevy power.
:flipoff2:
You guys will get a kick out of the motor I'm running. We took out the stock GM 2.8L (about 115HP) and custom built a 3.4L (somewhere close to 200HP when it was all said and done) from a '95 Camaro. Made some modifications and slammed her in there. Crane cam, Center Force clutch, Hurst shifter boot for shits and giggles, yada, yada. This part is pretty cool...we took the TBI from an older 305ci V8 Chevy, bored out my stock intake to match, and bolted all that on. Sounds like a freakin' cop car...and it completely blew my stock exhaust to shreds!!! Upped the exhaust to 2.5" and went with a Cat-co hi-flo cat and Dynomax muffler and now it pretty much rocks...for a Trooper anyway.

Good power to weight ratio tho.... Anything else done to it?
I think you need a 14FF to keep that thing on the ground!
Stomp77 02-24-2002, 04:26 PM Newbie here. I am looking forward too chatting with ya'll. If you want to see my truck click on my cool sig;)
Rip DeLips 02-26-2002, 05:12 AM Good power to weight ratio tho.... Anything else done to it?
Actually, I'm in the ever so slow process of building it. And yes, you're right about the power to weight ratio. It's like night and day from the stock power. Juice-o-plenty off-road. Most folks give me shit cause it's IFS. Well, considering where I live (eastern/coastal NC), going live axle isn't top priority right now. My 3" body lift came in Friday, 3" 'suspension' lift (well, sort of) will be in sometime in the next few weeks. Staying with IFS for now (mostly cause I ain't got the spare duckies lying around to put into SAS). Thought about 35x12.50's, but I use this truck to haul me and the dogs to the outer banks about every weekend, and that's just too much tire for me running 85mph on the hi-way. Going with 33x12.fitty Swamper TSL's on 15x8 Rock Crawlers.
A bunch of us Isuzoids went to Teraflex and they are hooking us up with 5.38's diff gears. Right now, they just have our deposits, we pay off the rest when the R&P's are actually ready in about 5 months. They have already hooked us up with 3.08 t-case gears which is pretty cool. Installing ARB locker on the rear, but ARB is still working on our lockers for the front. They should be ready next month is what they are telling us.
It's a nice compromise vehicle for me, offers plenty of room for my two labs, camping/fishing/drinking gear, tools, and a passenger, and still yeilds respectable off-road performance. Plus...it's something unique. You don't see too many beefed Isuzu's around. Anyway you look at it, I'm having fun with it.

My name is Derick. I live in Austin, TX and am a student at UT. I'm a member of Longhorn Offroad here. My first truck ever was a 1995 Tahoe which I lifted 9" and did 35's. Then later on as a toy I bought a 1979 CJ5, had 39.5" Boggers, dual detroits, etc etc. I recently sold both of them :( and got a 2001 Z71 Tahoe. Its still stock (except for a few minor things), I'm on a student budget with no $$ right now. And I have a 1997 2500HD Chevy with 285 M/T's that I keep on the ranch. That's my story.

Two Dogs F..king 05-01-2002, 09:29 AM Hey I'm Waterboy.
I am 15, and a truck addict. I prefer Chevy's and GMC's, but Fords are alright. I don't like Chrysler much though, but I wouldn't mind having a Jeep for a toy.
My dad's giving me a 1995 z71, which I plan to lift, and modify.
My friend and I are going to fix up a 1974 Chevy just for romping around in. We don't plan to put much money in it right now, but maybe we will. Probably just going to get it running, and cut the fenders a lot for some bigger tractor tires. If we put bigger axles on it, I'll probably take one of the 1/2 ton axles and convert my 1995 to SFA. It won't be a perminant axle, but it will be a good temporary replacement.
Anybody looking for a 4-wheel?
I have a 2000 Rancher with some modifications (2" Lift, 25" Super Swampers, etc), for $3800 obo.

Your here too, how many more peeps we gonna swing over from FullSize Chevy.. Looks like today alone you, me and superlifted94 all made the switch.
drunkmarine 05-01-2002, 02:51 PM my name is drunkmarine. i am a marine and quite normally drunk. i have found that a lot of people get over sensitive about this board. so i say :flipoff2: to all you people with no sense of humor who take this crap too seriously. not that any of you really care, but my current truck is a 76 chevy, 400hp small block.700r4 and np208, dana 44 and 12 bolt 37" boggers. i have been wheelin for about 3 years now and am quite effective at destroying drivetrains, sheetmetal, and getting all varieties of vehicles stuck beyond hope of extrication

Badass 06-10-2002, 09:24 PM Sup guys I'm badass. I've got a 01 Chevy Silverado thats lowered right now 2/4 but Im bout to put some 39's up in that bitch with some 23in Chromes to top it all off..its gonna be PIMP! I'm gonna do some minor rock crawling with it but mostly mudding. Those 39in mud terrains should do the job, and then some. Kevin108 06-12-2002, 11:12 PM What's up, I'm Kevin from Va Beach. About a month ago now I sold my 85 S-10 4x4 and bought my 87 Silverado. She pulles tripple duty as a work truck to haul materials, tools, ladders, etc. (I do remodeling), as a daily driver, and as an offroad rig. I see more sand than anything. In the summer I'm as much of a beach bum as I can afford to be and still pay my bills. I go to the outer banks of NC. It's about 90 miles from home so it's no big deal to hop over there with a cooler full of brews, a truck full of friends all combining to make it a trip full of memories. Since I haven't had her that long I still have some bugs to work out, so I'm definitely looking for info here! I knew the old S-10 pretty much in and out but IFS just got more and more of an obstacle for taking that truck where I wanted to go with it and I finally realized that even when I got there... It was a GREAT first car but it's not the platform to build off of.
Right now the truck's sitting in the back yard with a 4" Skyjacker lift, dual exhaust, 33x12.50-15 ATs, Alcoa rims, and last week I added a Modine 4-row radiator and a Hayden 5000 lb tranny cooler. I'm going down to Carova Beach this Friday so I'll probably have some new pics. I have pics of last time at the links below.
1TFROT 06-17-2002, 10:12 AM sup, I'm Steve
my truck is a '00 Chevy ZR2. I got a 5" BDS lift, 33x12.5 BFG KMs, AedoFab sliders and rear bumper, rockcrawlers, and locked in the rear (lockright).
I'm getting a canback for it soon. I'm also in the process of saving some $ for a SAS. I'll most likely be running a D44/D60 (or 9") combo with a Detroit (rear). might even try and sneak a D300 in it. got lots of plans for her, but not enough $ for now (is there ever enough? :rasta: )
I spend most of my time wheelin in Attica (the badlands) and have done Moab twice so far.

Bronco_Rider 05-19-2003, 06:17 PM Hi,
This topic is very nice and friendly. I have a tendency to irritate both chevy and ford owners because of the projects I do.
Own a Corvette and Chevy powered early bronco. I do have an 88 chevy 4x4 which I am trying to sell and all of my other vehicles are ford pu's. a 60's and two 79 short bed 4 wheel drives
My best memories are 4 wheeling with a friend who was a Chevy pu owner. "A very sweet truck and damn he could drive"

Bronco_Rider 05-19-2003, 10:21 PM Hi,
Kind of you to ask yes I was.
If friends have a comfort level and want to share the sign, that is between you and your buddy.
Guess I must tell you I am 55 yrs old.
I would hate to have my grown children, my dad, or the wife see me flip some one off, It would hurt me to disappoint any one of them. .... and yes I can still enjoy life.

Been to Glamis once and it was great but it takes a day to get there.
I am complaining and yet have been to sand mountain in Utah riding banshee's. Great place.

pirate 05-29-2003, 09:36 PM Howdy,
I drive a 1992 Silverado, 5-speed. and 1988 Cherokee. Just stuck my head in so the old timers can throw a pie at the newbie or noob as they like to say.
I enjoy this forum and it is a good time.
So I don't mind the abuse. Cause I know that most of the guys that give the abuse get their asses kicked by their old ladies at a regular basis, so they have to take it out on somebody.

I'd like to think of myself as Chevy, even though it says "Jeep" on my tailgate. Can I stay?

WhizBangChris 08-26-2003, 12:57 AM Ok, I'll sign in. Hi, I'm Chris from Washington State. I've been lurking in this forum for a while and occasionally contribute when I can. As for my rigs, on the trail I run a '52 m38a1 (TBI 327/TH350), my daily driver/work truck is a '79 C-20 (TBI 350/TH350) and my forever on-going project is a '49 Studebaker pickup which hopefully someday soon will get the Vortec 5.3L that's collecting dust in my garage.
Truckboy 09-15-2003, 09:25 PM Hey everyone! I just thought I would say hi! I own a 91 k1500 4x4 daily driver and tow rig. It is a great truck. I got it a month ago for $5,000 with only 63,000 miles and a brand new Chevy crate motor with only 5,500 miles on that and has a new Edelbrock MPI system. It is a really nice and spotless truck with no rust. I trailride Samurais and Jeeps, and just use the Chevy as a daily driver and tow rig. Well, I just thought I would stop in and say hi from Dresser, Wisconsin. Happy trails everyone!

Hey all, I have to say I am really impressed with the 89' Blazer my brother and I picked up, mind you it's beatup and rusty but damnit does it ever work hard. We got it to help build our cottage, we also had to put a Road (http://www.sulltek.com/earthship/road.html) in so it's 4x4 only.
Krazy_Kanuck 10-08-2003, 08:13 PM Hi.
I am new here but not to off roading.
I have a 97 Blazer 4dr 4x4 stock and just purchased a 98 ZR2 that I will do a few mods to.
1. 5" suspension lift
2. Headers dual exhaust
3. do something under the hood to make it breath better
4. Change out the bumpers front and rear to custom built
5. Add a winch
My next project will possibly be a 95 2dr blazer
1. rip out everything underneath and go with solid front axles and be locked up front and rear with ARB's
Before all this I had a 77 landcruiser

speedo 10-15-2003, 10:03 AM I just started lurking a short time ago and I thought that I might
as well sign up there is a lot of information on this site. My current
4x4 is a huntin' buggy and I have had it for 16 years now and
I think that I am due for a new ride and some new technology.
The old rig sits on a '75 Suburban frame with a 60 front and a 70
rear. I've got a Powr-Lok in the front and a No-spin in the rear
running 7.17 gears. It sits on 18.4 x 16.1 v-treads and uses a
305/TH-400/205.

S15Andrea 10-22-2003, 02:20 PM Hi I'm new to the site. My names Andrea, i live outside of Vancouver B.C. Canada.
My Trucks a 87 S15 SFA Jimmy 4x4, 2putt8, D30/D35, 4:10, blah blah blah :p Still have lotsa work to be done, but we all know there's no such thing as "finished" lol
My web sites www.4x4andrea.tk kinda girly, but i hope to get a "real" one some day (not this geocities crap).
Anyways, i think that's it. Look forward to learning, laughing and wheeling with ya!
Grizz Axxemann 10-24-2003, 07:03 AM 'Nother lurker, more Canadian content :P
I spend most of my time at S10Extremist.org, I've wheeled with S15Andrea, and I'm a proud owner of an 88 Chevy S10 Blazer 4x4. Got less than a year to go before the loan is paid up, then I can get myself another S10 to use as a daily driver until this one is built. It's getting radius arm suspension front & rear, locked D44 front and 9" rear, 35" tires, and I go pick up the 350 for it next weekend.

jwhart 11-24-2003, 07:45 AM I'm a newb here. My name's Jesse and I live in NW Arkansas. I just bought back a 1976 Blazer that I sold a year ago. I sold it for $2300 when I bought my 01 Camaro SS, but I bought the truck back last week for $1000.
The truck has a 350 automatic, 6" lift, and 36" thornbirds on it. It's kinda rough, but it tows a heck of a lot better than the camaro.
I'll try to take some pics today and get them in the pic thread.

BadDog 11-26-2003, 09:36 PM Welcome aboard. We're pretty easy going in here, and General is not as bad as it used to be, but you might want to read and learn a while before going out into the main forum (General) unless you have thick skin. Seems there's almost always some looser hanger-ons who will post up some "fawkin' newbie" crap, even if there is no reason to do so. Mostly those are just loosers padding their own count to make them look like players. Then again, questions that can be answered by reading, thinking, and searching often get swatted pretty hard, and rightfully so. Just think first, search second, and ask third and you’ll find this to be one of the best sites around for hard core rock-crawlin’ 4x4 info.

mlo9199 01-26-2004, 10:31 AM Hi, I'm new to Pirate 4x4 and have a question to anyone who might know. I have a 81 el camino, and would like to convert it to a 4x4, nothing to crazy. What truck do I get the axles, susp., and diff. off of to us on my el comino? any help would be great.
DaHateTank 02-01-2004, 08:08 PM Hello,
Been lurking around for awhile, reading some posts, and learning some stuff.
Nice to see a 4X4 site, with the block-stacking, cobble asses kept to a minimum.
Hope my dumb ass can contribute something useful, from time to time. :D

Smash-K20 02-03-2004, 06:36 AM Hello all. I found this site while searching for tech info on installing discs on my 14b FF rear axle. Discovered that one of your tech writers is from the same tiny corner of the world as me (It's rare to see somebody from eastern Canada in the 4X4 web community, most of us can't use computers yet). So I have decided to stick around awhile and check it out.
I'v had this truck for about 6 years now, it's the usual 1 ton Chev setup, 454/Sm465/NP205/14 bolt rear/ D60 Front/4:56's Locked at both ends/ 3 inch body lift/ 6 inch suspension lift/ 35's for now.
My planed upgrades in the future are rear disc's/ upgrading to a hydralic winch/38-40 inch tires/NP203 Doubler/ Suspension mods for better flex and travel/ and at the moment I have the truck all apart sandblasting and painting it before all the salt they spread on the roads here eat's it alive.
Look forward to chatting with you all:)

choga172 07-01-2004, 12:02 AM Hello all. Newbie checkin in and already have questions. I am currently in the process of a SAS on my 96 GMC and am looking into SKY Manufacturing's Cross over steering kit. Anybody know much about them?
big94GMC 07-06-2004, 04:17 PM Forgot to introduce myself.... What's going on, ya'll.... Name's Chris, the daily driver is a '94 GMC Sierra 2wd, TBI350, NV3500, 4.10, 6" RCD lift with 33" Pro Comp mud terrains. It gets me to work, to play, does towing duties, and never gives me any lip! I won't ever get rid of that truck. The toy (trial only) is an '86 Silverado, at the moment sitting with a 4" susp./3" body, beaten back fenders, 40's, busted up 350, ragged TH350, spuratic NP208, stock D44, stock 12b, no crossover steering, and big 'ol traction bars welded to the rear - yes, it was a mud drag/mud bog truck. But now that I've got my hands on it, plans are underway: rebuilt 350/conversion to propane, rebuilt TH350, 205/203 Doubler, shaved D60, 5.13, Detroit, 14b, 5.13, welded, dovetailed/bobbed bed, 44" Boggers....the list goes on....
rustythe4x4 07-08-2004, 09:47 PM Hey all. Long time reader, first time poster. Had to say that.
Drive an '80 silverado K10. Mildly built 350, TH400, NP205, 33x10.5 BFG Mud Terrains, Warn 8274, and the air conditioning still works!!!
Its a great snow wompin truck, which is what we have a lot of here in the middle of everywhere, Saskatchewan.
jimmy102 07-20-2004, 06:17 AM Jim signing in from Northern MN. I'm currently building the "BOWTIE BRONCO",
Its a 1988 BroncoII, I'm trashing all the Ford drivetrain, and swapping in good ol'chebby stuff. Raped Dads plow truck, and got 400SB,TH350+NP203, Dana44 with flat tops & 12Bolt. However I think I'm gonna use the 14BOLT I have instead of the 12 Bolt, and put 8Lug outers on the 44. I'm gonna run 36-39" tires on it. The rear Bronco leafs are staying, with some mods. Got some rear chevy leafs for the front of the little Bronc, and I'll probably put in a 3" body lift just to make more room for the swap. I've got a long ways to go on this project, but I finally have all the parts in the Garage, so I have no excuses now. Anybody whats to put there 2cents in feel welcome, any ideas like to hear them.
78 K5 07-20-2004, 06:35 AM If your really gonna run it hard with 36-39's you might wanna trash that d44 and get you a d60/14bolt combo, just my 2 cents :)
jimmy102 07-20-2004, 07:12 AM Would love to, however D60's are hard to find around here, not to mention $$$...
redneck_motorsports 08-01-2004, 05:14 PM Just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Catfish. I have a 67 K30 for one of my projects. Its not through yet and I mainly built it for mud and eyegasims. Mission accomplished.

Uncle Bill 11-12-2004, 04:11 PM  First time on the forum. I need help. I have both a 1985 Chevy Blazer and 1988 GMC suburban with 2" rough country easy ride lift kits. One with blocks in the rear and one with rear springs. I am eating u-joints like crazy. Is the answer the OX or what?
Help, Uncle Bill
MeAndMyChevy 11-16-2004, 12:01 AM Hey guys my name is Joe, I recently bought a used 1996 Chevy S10 Blazer, it has almost an even 80,000 miles on it and im lovin it so far. I have had a few problems within the first 3-4 months of having it. The first problem was my brake booster going out, almost got me in a wreck, and then my radiator cracked. Both easy repairs. So far so good other then my check engine light being on. I ran the codes on it, and I forget the numbers but basically the codes said I had a "Rich Fuel Mixture" in Bank 1 and 2. So I boiled it down to loose hoses or connections, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, O2 Sensors, Air intake sensor, or the central fuel injector. So im slowly trying to replace a few things at time, to find the problem. but anyways for the most part im really happy with it. So far its stock, other then 100% Synthetic oil, K&N filter, K&N Oil Filter, and Bosch Platinum +4 Spark Plugs. I will throw a link to some pics of it at the bottom of this page.
I am lookin to lift it though very soon. I dont want to go to high because its only 2wd :emb2: But I can still work around that factor. I was thinking of going for the Pre-Runner look, and lifting it about 4" in the front and 2" or so in the back, then throwing some BFG's under it. I have been 4-wheelin since I was a young kid, just havent been for the past few years due to budget. I know that the higher you go the more stress you put on everything else. By lifting it as high as I said, and puting maby 30" tires under it, would I still have to replace the driveshafts and what not to compensate for the added weight and rotational mass of the tires? Or could I just re-gear the rear diff.? I still have alot of other things I would like to talk about but I dont want to write a book for my first post. :)

LiftedAWDAstro 12-15-2004, 06:39 AM Well Hello. I am new to this board having just signed on yesterday. My name is Dean and live in Central NY state where we get well over 200" of snow every year. I have played in the mud for years and only since May actually wheeled in the rocks and such. We wheel at Paragon Adventure Park in Hazleton, PA the most.
About my rig: Well it started life as a 1998 Astro AWD van. First mod was to install and use a Snowbear snowplow. Next I needed some ground clearance so I installed a 5" lift from Overland Vans. The I got some 30x9.5R15 AT's and was happy...for a short time! Then I was fighting a losing battle with towing our sleds so I swapped in some 4.11 gears and an Auburn posi in the rear. That's when we found Paragon. After the first trip there, I swapped in a NP231 transfer case, full skid plate under neath, mounted a receiver in my custom front bumper and hooked up a 9000# milemarker hydraulic winch. After several more wheeling trips I decided I needed new and larger tires. So I had a set of 32x11.5 Cooper STT's mounted up and did some pounding, cutting and grinding and they finally fit! That's where I'm at today.
Future plans are to do a SAS to a D44 in front and swap out the 7.625" rear to a D60. This will give me worry free durability while wheeling especially since I am still running the 4.3 V6.

76Stepside 01-11-2005, 02:43 PM Hey all, new to this forum, but not really new to wheelin. Been running with a great bunch of guys here in Oahu (check out www.nakolo4x4.com) and came here via a link in thier website. My ride (when it ain't broken) is a 76 1/2 ton stepside with 8" lift, 40" monster mudders, a nicely built 350 backed by SM465 and NP205. Wishing I had the money to swap in D60's for the GM 10 bolt front and 12 bolt rear, but parts are rare and expensive here in the islands. most everybody here runnin jeeps, toy's or modified sami's, seems just a few of us full-size bowtie guys.
