Stupid newbie question, i did a search and couldn't find my answer....I Got a new toy, 87 YJ, I'm normally a Ford guy whos not used to Slip Yokes, but the Bronco is too damn big for the woods. Anyways, the jeep has a saggy 3.5 inch Superlift lift now w/ 1' transfer case lowering kit, probably sits at 2.5-3" and can still fit 33s with rubbing only on the most serious bumps. I'm planning on swapping out the lift for the 4wd Hardware 3.5" lift kit (one of the springs is bent from shackle inversion) I don't have a Slip Yoke Eliminator, is 3.5 inchs too high to run with out it? This lift will be temporary until i score some 1 ton axles, 350 and soa.
Let the BBQ begin......

I run my 87 YJ with a SOA suspension. I used the stock driveshaft with the transfer case lowered abot 2". I had a very small vibration when taking off. Soa is about 5.5" lift, you shouldn't need the sye, unless you plan on adapting your transfer case to your new drivetrain.

I don't have one at 6", but my XJ's WB is longer. I would go ahead and do one so you can take that crappy case drop out and belly-up your rig.

Dammit:( I got a 3" lift, t/c drop & got vibes :mad3: ,
Just put a sye a modded prop on all ok now $$$$$$$$$$ :)
For what it is worth. I have a 91 yj withthe BDS 3.5" lift (rumored this is the same lift as the 4wp one) and some 5/8" boomerang shackles. I have a 1" mml and used the t-case spacers and degree wedges that came with the lift. I have no real vibes up to about 55 mph or so. No SYE (yet). When I swap axles I will make a new t-case support and flat skid. This will require a SYE. Hope that helps.
