I AM JUST GETTING INTO THEM AND I WAS WONDERING WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST POWER STEERING TO PUT ON IT. EVERYTHING IS STOCK. I WANT SOMETHING THAT IS POWERFULL CAUSE I AM GOING TO BUILD IT UP.

Sidekick/Tracker stuff is fine up to ~33's. Lotsa aftermarket vendors selling the kits.

A step up would be the Celica box - Petroworks sells a kit for that.

Next level is Toyota IFS stuff - pretty much all custom install at this point since Fatkid is more interested in racing on the rocks instead of making some money :p

I have also seen Saginaw ps on a couple of Samurai's.

Welcome Newbie :flipoff2: :D

What are you running on the burner-mobile, Tim? I know you were interested in FatKids setup, but was it just for the knowledge, or were you thinking about throwing it on the Zuk?

If you are going bigger than 33s, I'd look into saginaw or toy truck...

I told the PhatOne I was ready to lay out the jack for 2 sets of his Toy PS designs- that I had cash in hand, but all I hear now is how he is going to compete so I guess he's not interested.
I will proceed w/ my own install after I get the Klune finished.
I'd appreciate it if you would keep yer eyes open for anyone parting out an IFS Toy for all it's ps parts.:)
(I might even let you come see my Klune):grinpimp:

Check with Chris at Adventure 4x4. He parts out Toys out of the back & works on them at night there. I got my IFS stuff from him very reasonable...

Skip the Sidekick stuff. Okay for tiny tires, worthless (IMHO) for larger tires and locked diffs. Toyota all the way!

We have a cool selection of pulleys in various ratios for tweaking your engine and or power steering power while you're inthere messing with stuff.

Scout box is reversed, ie pitman points forward...

that makes it easy to move the front axle forward. :smokin:

Your making me feel bad, :(

No really, Tin Bender and I have been trying to make the kit easy to install for some of the folks that don't enjoy cutting and welding of perfectly good Zuks...

Thanks for the "tip" buddy, but my Toyota's steering setup is already decided, and it had an IFS Toyota box & pump from the factory :D

I think this should be beefy enough...

Greaseable Chevy tierod ends and a .250 wall DOM draglink and tierod. I believe Mark at Kong's will sell just the arms, but I'm not sure about the cost. Also, going this route will require a pitman arm with the proper hole and taper for a chevy tierod end.

Anyway, just thought that this might make someone's GM or Saginaw steering conversion easier, since using his arms would mean you could use all Saginaw/GM tierod ends, instead of having some Toy and some US.

[EDIT:] This isn't a pic off of my axle - it's from another guy on the Toy board who posted it a couple weeks back. Mine is in the mail... :D

How much do the Chevy rod ends cost?:)

Last I checked about half what the Toy Landcrusier ones run, about $18. I am not too impressed with the rubber boots on the Chevy rod ends though, some of mine are shredded after 2 months.

Yeah, but they're strong as crap, and cheap. And you can find them anywhere, not just in a Toyota dealer. I figured if one does fail (not likely with my setup) it'll be easier to find an autozone near the trail head than a Toy dealer.

Plus, you thrash stuff in 2 months harder than I will in 2 years. I go wheeling every weekend, but not Your kind of wheeling every weekend. Plus it's easier to justify carrying a spare at $15 each than at $40.

They look stout, I run heims though. Got a part number or a year and make for those babies?
