TH400 and 4L80E output shaft questions [Archive]

I'm working on a project that uses an AWD BW4472 transfer case from a bravada,syclone,typhoon, safari.
I've got the adaptor plate to go on the back of the 4L80E to make it look like a 700r4 so I can use my existing transfer case adaptor.
Now the BW4472 transfer case was designed to match the splines of a 4L60.
The 4L80E obviously isn't even close. I saw somewhere where a TH400 output shaft and a 4L80E output shaft can be swapped.
Does the TH400 output shaft have the same spline as a 4L60?
If so it would make it sooo much easier if I could take a TH400 output shaft and put it into my 4L80E, put on my adaptor plate and bolt it right to the BW4472.
Can anyone offer any input? I'm thoroughly familiar with the 700 but not the TH400s or the 4L80E's....yet :)

The 700/4L60's have 27 splines and the 400/4L80E's have 32.

Like you, I have heard that the tailshafts between the 400 and 4L80E's will interchange but I've never done any real research to find out.
