Now i know that the ac pump pressurizes the ac but if i built a holding tank and toggle switched the clutch on the compressor could i use that as an air pump? HAve you done this? How much flow can this pump handle? enoguh to power air tools???

thanks for the help I have 2 compressors sitting around so i want to make some use of them

yes you can use them. Work just fine except for the lack of lubrication in the system. You can toggle them. You can run a big air tool if you make a big enough storage tank to have some volume on reserve. Look into making your bumper or something an air tank.

get some sort of oiling system..(ive seen some for big shop pnuematic systems) or just oil it every time ya use it,.. there is typically 8-10 oz of oil in a truck AC system.. and only about 1/2 oz or so actully in the compressor..get a big tank and a pressure switch too , so itll cut off at set point and come back on without you having to dick with it..a cheap pressure ( open/close type) switch will work, no need to get fancy...

post pics if ya do it :smokin: :D
