I bought High Energy Suspension bushings for my stock rear springs (1980 K20). I recently bought some Heckethorn Rough Country springs and want to know if the bushings will swap or if I will have to get new ones. I called High Energy and they had no :flipoff2:ing clue! If they are different, does anyone have the part number(s).
I know my front stock bushings were a different size from my front Rancho spring eyes, but luckily they came with poly bushings. The Heckethorns I bought for the rear came with rubber.

Stick with the rubber bushings. There isn't any reason I can think of to swap out the rubber bushings for the hard-plastic bushings - unless you have to.
If you really want to swap bushings, measure the sleave on the A.M. springs and check it against the poly-bshings.
The only real way to tell is to pull them out and look. If you're poly bushings are to big, you could always turn them down a little. That's whay I had to do on a customers truck. His were close, but not quite right, little work with the bench grinder and I was good. You might call rough country and ask them if the spring eye's are the same as stock or smaller.
Just a thought. :D
BTW, eric, the reason to change for me was simple. I'll never have to change them again. Also, there is a difference between the hard plastic and a poly. Poly does have some play. Hard plastic is hard plastic. That's what the customers truck had. Dang near could have been a peice of turned steel.
