It is a rip off of the stock Defender 90 cage. I did not want to put a tube in front of the wipers... It would of had to dog legged out to far. I did not want it to look like a shopoping cart handle:eek:

There is a matching flange on the inside that is welded to the interior cage... Not all the bolts are in the flange yet.

Hey Seth,

I have only had the top down a few times since I have owned it. If I did want to put the top down, I would have to unbolt the cage. It only ways about 50 lbs and I have already taken it off and on by myself. I like having the top up.:)

Thanks...

Sorry no shots of the inside flange. I made the inside ones just like the ones you see. There is not a whole lot of room inside the top. You have the plastic thing that the door seals on and the bar that holds the top up. The flange went right between the two of them.

I dunno if it would work on a Jeep, but on the D90, you can just take the windshield off instead of folding it. I think some models not sent to the US actually had hinges, but the ones here just have supports bolted to the bulkhead and then bars going back to the main hoop inside the top.

If I remember right, one of the videos of 24hrs at the hammers has Jesse Rodecker's rig without the windshield and without doors.

I can fold the windshield down with the cage on, but I never will. There is just enough room. It was by accident or luck, cus I did not build it with that point in mind. It just happend to come out like that???;)

Adam, the Pro- Valve works good... Thanks!

hehe Seriously though, I like the design. It is a break from the norm of what everyone else is doing. Don't be surprised to see similar designs popping up in the future.

Did you have to modify the plastic door surrounds that the top fits into?

Now go roll the thing and let us know how it works. :D :D

Hey thanks Todd.

I did not have to modify the plastic. The inner flange fits right in there, snug as hell though!

I have been thinking about one of those Califonia Tops(?). So I would then only have the front seats and the back would be like a little bed. Kinda like putting a Scrambler top on it. I'm not sure if I would like it?
