I thought it sounded kinda weird but this guy at my work swears his 69 had a d30 but a lot of the components were d44, it also had a 9" and 302 and 35s, said it never broke and he beat the shit out of it.

a 69 would have had a 30 stock. the brakes, spindles, and outer axle are the only parts that interchanged with a dana 44.

if he never broke a 30 with 35's, he never put it in 4 wheel drive

He said he had 4.56s and beat on the truck, he showed me some pics and it looks like he was GETTIN it so I dunno, maybe he just got lucky.

I'm still running my stock D-30 with 3.50 gears. It's still holding up ok, But I'm a poser with 31" BGF AT's. :D
