it shoud be a 420 tranny, the easy way to tell a 205 from a 203 is the rear of the 205 has a cover about 2" in diameter between the gears for the center gear shaft. the 203 is chain drive so it won't have anything between the gears.

The 205 is easy to spot. Like mike said, look for the intermediate shaft bolts in the middle of the case.
The 420 is pretty easy to spot too. I believe it is 10.5 inches long and was usually found in 2 wheel drive trucks. Odds are you have an np205 with an SM465 in front of it.
Oh yeah and last but not least...keep your open for a truck for me!! Need small block........need POWER! :D:D:D

I have to ask, have you done a search? I know that I have posted pictures of SM420's a few times in the last month or two.

SM420 is about 10.5" long and I think that the SM465 is about 12" long. Just look for the larg bulge on the passenger's side to identify the SM420.
