I have a 1995 Dodge Ram and i recently locked my front end and i figure it to be wise to have spare axel shafts. I know the passenger side shaft is pretty unique because of the vaccum disconnect and that stuff. But i was wondering if the driver side, which is the short side, is somewhat universal? Can i use a dana 44 driver side axel shaft from say a dana 44 off a ford or something else? Any help would be great....Thanks in advance

not sure about interchangability,b ut if you cant find a spare, you can contact http://www.lightruck.com (one "T") and use account 106025 for up to 15% discounts. I get my spare shafts (inners and outers) from them, NEW, for fairly cheap.

If you mean universal over year models- I am pretty sure they are- I had '99 shafts in a '94 and '95 axle.
If you are interested- I have a complete passenger side shaft for sale, including U-joint and hub nut. It has low mileage on it and I never wheeled it.
