I had already given you the sledge hammer, micro adjustment, technique. The moderators probably figured we had sufficiently covered door adjusting at that point,....and rightfully so. :flipoff2:, sheeeesh Newbies.

Use a big hammer, and mash it till it fits.
Now quickly write this down, before you lose it again. :flipoff2:

1. Slowly close door
2. Look to see if the striker needs to be adjusted up or down
3. Hit the striker with 3lb. sledge hammer in the appropriate direction
4. Repeat steps 1 - 3 until door closes.

Or if you have patience and a T50 Torx, loosen the striker bolt and move it around until door closes.

Bungie cords keep doors closed also

I wd-40d the latch and then moved the latches with my fingers to the closed position. Now the top one clicks shut but the bottom one still doesn't

Hooder, if I could move posts to JU, I'd be a happy man.

Years ago I used to own a '77 Olds Starfire and the striker rusted and fell into the quarter panel. I used a bungee to hold the door closed till I could find someone who would weld it for me.
I buddy of mine need some wheels so I let him use it for a few days and the bungee snaped while he was headed around a clover leaf on ramp. He had welts on his thighs for days.

I've been laugin' my ass off for the last 10 mins reading this thread and remembering the look on his face when he told me what happened. :D :D :D :D

I had to run the passanger seatbet through the door handle and then buckel it in to keep the door closed. Its still messed up. Now 1 latch grabs but the bottom one still won't
