I changed out eh brakes in my 99 CTD a few weeks ago, and when I did it, I ended up splitting the hub. Now whenever I am in gear and moving, I get a constant cracking noise coming from the front left tire. I am thinking the bearings are bad in this sxle, but can anyone tell me for sure... If so, do I have to buy a complete hub assembly, or can I just rebuild mine?
Thanks
Dima
Mine does the same thing. Put it in 4WD and see if it stops. If it does, it's probably the bearings.

Sorry, yes, wheel bearings.
Just called Napa and they do not even carry the hub/bearing setup. Is this a stealership item?

napa should carry them. for the pre-99 trucks
I found that autozone had them for thalf the price on my 1500. from what I hear, they are all timken bearings.
Looks like the SRW 99 front bearings are PN BRG
BR930407 from napa at $385 each.
FYI, my 1500 bearings were $125 when I priced them out.

You cant rebuild the bearings. They are one time use ones, just like in FWD cars. Welcome to the world of dodge.
I think its www.moparsupercenter.com that I heard was cheap. Either that or www.moparpartsonline.com
Either way, the bearings are an arm and a leg, and I hear like to go out about every 120-250k miles stock, or about every 30k with 35"+ tires.
FYI, napa ones are lifetime warrenty.
