I'm thinking of going down and buying this today. But I can't decide if the price is worth the salvage title history.

What do you guys think?

Dodge 1999 Ram 2500 Laramie SLT Quad Cab Short Box 4x4 CTD. Bright Red in color with Charcoal Gray Leather interior. 5.9 Liter Cummings Turbo DIESEL with Automatic and LOADED. Equipped with Full Power, Cassette & CD Player Stereo, Bed Liner and Chrome Wheels. 100,021 miles.

These are the DAMAGED pics. Went into a ditch during a storm. Few other small dents but overall pretty clean.

If I don't buy it I will post the contact number so someone else could buy it if they wanted. I'm going down to drive it this afternoon.

I paid $16,000 for a loaded 1999 CTD QC SB 4wd 5spd (94,000 miles) in June. It had been in a front ender, but most of the damage had been repaired. I didn't get a screamin' deal, but I don't think I got ripped off either.

I paid $13.5 for my 99 CTD, SB, QC, auto, no leather, infiniti stereo, power everything w/ 130k miles. It was in great shape but needed tires.

You can find the deals if you are patient. I got mine from a dealer who got it on trade in and was just going to sell it to a smaller dealer because of the mileage. They sold it to me for what they would sell it to the other dealer for.

LOL OPS! It should have been in the original post.

$12,900 is what they are asking. I was thinking that I could get it for $12k. They just got it off an insurance auction.

After talking to the bank I can't get a loan on it because of the salvage title. And I don't have that kind of cash laying around. :(

If anyone wants it here's the contact info:

Why does it have a salvage title? The damage does not look bad enough for a total.

Why does it have a salvage title? The damage does not look bad enough for a total.

Lots of states have a law that if a vehicle is sold by the insurance company NOT repaired it must have a salvage note on the title.

It's stupid. And is THE only reason I'm not driving this truck today. Can't get a damn loan on it and I only have $8500 I can get to. :(

Most stuff that is damaged like this truck was stolen and the insurance company paid the claim out and then the police found the vehicle after they already cut the check. They never fix em, just sell them off at auction. I have been trying like hell to get on a list or find the auction to buy these myself. But no one will talk or tell me how to buy at a insurance auction. :mad3:

Keep looking, I got my 98.5 qc 4x4 with only 62K miles on it for $15K from a TDR member. It's a great truck, and I've been offered much more from some of the techs at work for it.

Keep in mind that most insurance companies will raise your rates on a salvage titled vehicle...the fawkers!

99 5spd 95K, R title, needed APPS and lift pump, 4x4, QC, 8ft bed, ect I got a bank loan on it for the entire amount(15K). Try a diffrent bank. or what about a personal(non secure) loan for the rest of the $$
