I called them to get a quote on D44 5.38's and master installs. Well the guy told me $115 for a ring & pinion. So i asked him what brand, because of the low price. He says Sierra:confused:  . He told me they were actually Superior gears reboxed under their house name. Can anyone verify this?

Also, Mike at Randy's Ring & Pin. told me that supeior gears are poor quality and his Yukon gears are top quality. What he just trying to make money or are the yukons work the extra $55. Anyone know wher i can get spicer's at a reasonable price? Thanks

Yukon, are repackaged gears as well. 44 gears will more than likely be dana/spicer. You can ask to be sure, I think with some people they might try to charge you extra if you say you want dana gears.

When I bought my gears there, the sales rep tried to make it seem like he was hooking me up  gee thanks....I did get a decent deal though.

We've installed quite a few sets of the Sierra Gear brand. We have also installed Superior Gear. The packaging and the Made in Italy tag on both.
No problems with either set. take it for what its worth. I believe they are the same.
Also, that dude from Randy's is :smokin: :smokin: crack. Superior is backed by Forge axle and gear. OEM for a lot of companies and a solid reputation

I have been told to avoid their house brand gears. They only market them because everyone was buying cheaper gears and then advertising them so cheap. I believe that the WC house gears are made in Korea. Spend the money once, the first time...

They are NOT made in Korea. If you read my post, I said they are made in Italy. Actually, quite a few manufactures name brands are made in Italy.

That is just what I was told..by someone who "Should" know. They could have been :smokin: that day but whatever...

Thanks for the help guys. I do want to get good quality gears. I know superior makes a quality product thats why i wanted to verify that the sierra's are just reboxed Superiors. I am still checking around on dana-spicer prices. Anyone have a good supplier of spicer gears?

West coast also carries Dana Spicer gears. Usaully not a whole lot more than quality aftermarket if it is available in your desired ratio.

I have always bought all my gears/lockers/bearings/install kits from WCD for the last 4-5 years. I have ran the U.S. gear, Richmond, Sierra, Spicer, and Sierra instal kits in many different axles. I have never had a problem with any gearset. Yes, the packaging on the Sierra's is made in Korea, the gears im pretty sure are made in Italy. I run Richmond in my front Dana 60, and the gears in my 14 bolt I believe might be a stock GM part( not sure if 5.13's were offered in anything stock), or they are the Sierra's. Either way, I am 100% confident with both sets. The only brand I say stay away from is Genuine Gear from 4wp's. Still dazzles me why anyone would buy a very important part of your drivetrain, that has a Lifetime/No Questions asked warranty on something most of us cant exactly replace on the trail. If your gears do:nuke: and u don't know how to set the new set up yourself, then u get reamed the install price again. JMHO!
