My daily driver is a 99 Silverado 2wd it sit to damn low!, I wanna lift it either a body lift or a suspension. I wanna know if you can use coil spacers and blocks in the rear for a lift? how much lift would this provide and where do I get coil spacers for a chevy of that year model? Also any good places to find some blocks for the rear? is this a good idea or a bad one ? Any one done any thing like this. :smokin: thanks

There is a 3" body lift I have seen - can't remember who makes it. I assume it would be the same for 2 or 4x4
I don't know about ciol spacers, but I would bet someone maks some that will fit.
Lift blocks are easy to find from any number of sources
I would look into a suspension lift from Fab Tech or one of the others.

Is it a Silverado P/U? -(1/2 ton Tahoes, Subs and Avelanch use coils in the back, all P/U are leaf sprung.)
If so, than it has leafs in the back and would use blocks to raise the rear, not coil spacers.
What do you want to do?
How much lift are you looking for?
and Why? -be prepared to deal with the concequences that come with a lifted IFS.
Blocks are O.K. in the back.

What problems would be associated with lifting the front only of a K1500 (all stock) 1". Mine sits ass-high because of the 3/4 ton leafs and I'd like to level it a little. If I can actually find a coil spacer for the front, I'd like to do it.
As for lifting a 2WD, I think there are a couple kits made specifically for 2WD. You won't run into the CV joint problems in the front because, well, you just don't have them.
This site has 3-6" suspension lift for 2WD Silverado's and body lifts too. I don't know if their stuff is any good though.

Apparently no one knows, so I would guess Energy Suspension or Daystar. Why don't you just contact your favorite parts supplier & ask?

Napa makes some coil spacers... 20 bucks a set... one inch at a time...
Stiffer ride though...

- I appoligize for my first replie, I missed the 2wd drive thing.
Sorry.
I'm not positive, I've never had to deal with a lifted 2wd before -so I'm guessing. -But-
I would say, a 1 inch front coil spacer would be O.K. as long as it is aligned after. Two inches would probably be too much, I would think there would be a problem getting the alighnment correct and limited suspension drop.
Check out (I think) Fab-tec, I've seen some pretty nasty 2wd lift kits than included droped steering knuckles. I'd bet they would have a 2 inch droped steering knuckle that would fit the bill.
Erikrs301:
Lifing the front useing the trsion bars, on a K truck (4wd) is extreamly common, and so-far I haven't seen meny problems other than limited drop/ruff-ride. The C/V joints seam to hold up, and alighnments can be set close enuff. I wouldn't go much more than an inch tho'.
By consequeces I ment, If the truck is changed from stock than it's not going to preform like a stock truck, be prepared to deal with that. It's not going to dive, handle and perform like a stock truck.
For the record, I work in a Chev dealer- That is where I base my opinions from.
Interesting site ya' have here.....:massey: <=hehehe....

Thanks for the insight. I only want to get another inch up front to level the thing out a little and fit 285's. I know what you mean about the change in ride and performance. I have a lifted Jeep that is now a dedicated trail rig but used to be a lifted daily driver.
