about the die thing. my father used to work at an IH dealership, he was the parts manager there. he owned two scouts which i now own. he told me, when the scout II's came out in late 1970, all the sheet metal used was galvanized on one side only. the non-galv. side is supposed to go to the outside because paint dosen't stick well to zinc. for some unknown reason, all the sheetmetal parts for all scout II's from 1970 to 1980 were stamped with the galv side out. this caused paint peeling and of course rust. many scouts left showrooms with rust. the 1978 scout i had was rusted apart, BAD. alot of the paint peeled off the outer and inside quarters, and to no avail, where the paint fell off, there was hardly any rust, just bare galv metal. this scout also set outside its whole life, for 10 years it wasn't moved. my 76 traveler has hardly any rust, it was restored in `89 and then set outside for the last 7 years. the only bad rust it has is on the windshield frame.

Man, you need to chill and not take it personal. :flipoff: is reserved for the most grievous offenses. As someone new to the board you have not earned the right to use it. So ease up, have  and enjoy the newbie stage.

how come ya didn't tell them about when i tried to move your 78? that was fun!! the seat felt like it was gonna fall through the floor, and all the horrible disgusting exhaust fumes coming up through the floor while it was running on about 3 cylinders. had to keep doin neutral drops i 4-low just to get it to go up a 6 degree slope. that was pretty awful.

i guess that's what 15 year old stale gas does to a motor :D

I just finished my front fenders & I must admit it looks damn good!! But Ive got a Shackle Reversal Setup so I only had to trim the front edges since my front axle has been moved forward an 1in. I left about 1inch of sheetmetal under the parking/blinker & just cut straight around."ILL" post some pics tonite if I can find a free hosting site. (DIGicam finally started to work.)

For picture hosting I use Picture Trail (http://www.picturetrail.com) You can not link to the site the only downside.
