I own a '98 2500...........does anyone know if I can fit the 2000-2001 polished factory aluminum 8 bolt wheels onto my truck without any problems?.......AND.....does anyone know the backspacing of these wheels..........since they look so good, and if they don't fit a '98, I'd like to know the backspacing if I have to go aftermarket........I really want to go from the '98 6.5 inch wide, to this 8 inch wide wheels on the 2000,2001 models........THANX! :D

From what I hear the center hole is a different size. Check on TDR to be sure.

They have around 6.5" of backspacing
Older rims were 4.5" I believe

I think it's actually 6" and 4.5" back spacing. I installed '02 forged aluminum wheels on my '98 2500. In the rear, the OD of the inner drum flange is just a little large to fit inside the wheel. In the front, the leading edge of the knuckle arms where the tie rods mount interfers slightly with the wheel.
In the rear, (not the safest procedure) I blocked the front tires, lifted one rear tire (open diff), removed the tire and spun a lug nut back on to keep the drum on, started the truck and let it idle in reverse. Then I just used my grinder on the inner flange on the drum to grind about 1/16" off of the OD surface while the drum spun untill the wheel fit.
For the front, I used 3/16" thick spacers, and ground off the corner of the knuckle arms. It really didn't take much, but I can't run traditional wheel weights on the inside on the front wheels.
