I just got an 89 k5 blazer that needed to be finished. Motor and trans needed install to be complete. Did all that and the trans is leaking pretty bad. It is supposedly rebuilt with 15k on it but has been sitting for 6-8 months according to seller. Dropped the tranny and cant see anything obvious. Seems to be on the outer seal or flange? has 7 bolts and is about 8 inch diameter. Torque converter looks new and fluid is fine, no metal. any help greatly appreciated

maybe check the front pump seal.. pretty common

BwaHHHHAAAAHHHHAAAAHH Do a quick search for a post by me.. I have had one out 3 times this week and am bringing it to a shop again today.. Front seal??? Probably not.. What they seem to have a problem with is wear on the torque converther hub and bronze bushing. This can cause the bushing to "spin" and normaly crack the oil pump.. BTW, I installed a new seal and at idle it looked good.. Good untill I drove it down the highway and it leaked bad..
