Getting to my lower links on my 4 link rear / y-link front, I've tried to bend some 1/4 wall 1 3/4" DOM on my JD2 non-hydraulic bender & bent the followbar pin :mad3: I have to bend the front y-links a bit to clear the frame. I even tried to heat up the DOM, but to no avail. Do y'all think .120 wall DOM would be good enough if I design the y-link more like a ladder with x braces in between? Thanks in advance dudes :grinpimp:

I do not think it would be stout enough with me driving, but others have done it. Not the best use of it, but on straight lowers I have cut the tube down both side right to the inserts, then welded 1.75x.250 flat stock in place. It makes for great strength with out the weight of .500 wall. It would be alot of wor to do it with a bend, and does not ad much strength on the side away from the two welds, works better on lowers. I will be in ATL next friday, I can bend it in my bender, but I am not sure what I have on hand at the shop. I know I have some .375 wall 1.75. The bender does not like going past about 30-40deg on stuff that thick.
