jdjanda 01-31-2002, 11:13 PM Seems to me there are a lot of new names in our neck of the woods. Stand up and take your lashings. :flipoff2:
Everyone else can use this as the official Binder whopping post.

HarleyM 02-01-2002, 06:00 PM Go ahead and take a run at this newbie, but I'll give you fair warning I've been married three times so I doubt you can say anything I haven't heard before. I kinda like it here so give me an initiation and get it over with.

JoshC 02-27-2002, 08:34 PM I happened to see "snowcamoscout under the "latest newbie" thing on the home page. Come on out !!!!
Bindernut 02-27-2002, 08:44 PM OK, lash me, let's get it over with.
Just because I'm a "Newbie" doesn't mean I *am* one, you know... :) My friends and I were building hi-steer setups for our rs/soa Scout's back when _some_ of you post-count-junkies were asking which 4" lift fit 33's better! :flipoff2:
anyway, now I'll REALLY hear about being a newbie... :p

From one Newbie to another: Skip the posting pics - why don't you start by fixing your link so we can check your shit out without having to fix everything first. :flipoff2:

hate? there is no hate on POR!
If you had to spend a week on the trail would it be in your IH or Disco?
muskyman 02-27-2002, 09:47 PM all depends on the the trail
scout runs circles around the disco so i gotta say tougher the trail the more lilely youd see the scout.
then I gotta decide between the scouts

Hey Dan, good to see you around. Did you bag the twin-turbo 392 thing for now? We had some good discussion on that a while back, just wondering if you got any new ideas on that lately?
Sean
muskyman 02-27-2002, 09:54 PM links fixed
Klasick68 02-27-2002, 10:06 PM I lost the 392, but still workin on the planning stages of a twin turbo SV motor, just got a line ona free 345 as a canidate, and I have managed to locate the turbos (found two chrysler trubo motors) I think I a gunna re ring the 345 first to make good use of the boost. A few others have brought up the idea on the BB latley, most better equiped to do so, but i think it is gunna work out, maybe not this year , but it will work. I have started work on the intake (made patterns for the intake flanges (SP)) hopefully the new motor will be on the stand by spring. Also there was a thread on a turbo BD/BG 6 cyl a while ago. Do I guess the twin turbo is alive and well, just not as soon as I thought
thanks
Dan Hinckley
muskyman 02-27-2002, 10:10 PM how much power are you trying to make with the twin turbos?

Klasick68 02-27-2002, 10:18 PM I't's on a well worn stocker, so I guess i will make a ignorant statment and say "as much as I can" It just seems to me that trubos are the poor man's way to make power, all available in junkyards, just add time and u got a sweet setup, I'm kinda a hack when it comes to this but with all the good advice I have gotten, I think it will work out ok
thanks
Dan

Is that a snorkel on the passenger side? It looks like you definitely need it, too! Looks good. Do you like those baja Claws? It looks like you've put lotsa miles on them.
Sean
muskyman 02-27-2002, 10:27 PM the link is fixed,
yes its a safari snorkle works awsome has saved my 392 a number of times.
the axles, carb, trans, transfercase, distributor and air compressor intake all run to the snorkle.
the fuel tank has its own waterproof vent.
the claws are great , they work great on all kinds of terain.
i run them as low as 4psi for snow ...good tires if you can handle the noise

I have one, I have one! :flipoff2:
Hell, I have TWO.
One is a 4bbl 304 intake that's missing the custom-fit adapter plate..
The other is a custom RustoleumWhite unit.. my very own 2bbl TBI intake for a 345.
Too bad my TBI didn't work.. one of these days I'll get back to it..

The Offy guy I talked to said they NEVER built them. Anyone have a pic of one?
jdjanda 02-28-2002, 09:09 AM First off welcome :flipoff2: to all the DAN's
Second, for those of you that may not know, Old Scout is a turn coat, she is the Mod for the Landie board. Not that I hold anything against those dam fine grocery gett'n, mall riding pimp mobiles ;)
Jeez, we really need a newbies guide to the PBB :D
Oh and use the dam search button :rolleyes
muskyman 02-28-2002, 10:08 AM well offenhauser did make aluminum 4 barrel manifolds
I had one on a scout back in 1982
I bought it from a factory sponsored IH race guy that had a number of them.
I wish I still had it today...i'd bolt it on in a blink!
its amazing what i sold to go to schooolitem.:smokin:smokin:
I believe they where based on standard square bore manifolds
I dont think they ever made them as a stock
scoutver5.7 02-28-2002, 11:39 AM Hey now,
I've had a few posts already and you guys must have been slackin' 'cause ain't one of ya flamed me.
Don't bother me none anyhow. I'm a retired Air Force Senior NCO so's I can guarantee ya'll can't say a thing to get my dander up.
I ain't here to ask newbie questions. I have had my second Scout since '80, when I sold my '75 and bought the '77. Before that, I had an EB and a Heep. I was runnin' 33s and doin' RSs 'fore some ya'll knowed what a Scout was.
I may need a little help with the SOA and high-steer set up though.
Now, if'n ya'll wanna know how to make an IH RUN, all ya gots to do is ask.
And yes, most people around me suffer from my superiority complex!
