Sounds great I have not been to clayton in about 4 or 5 months and I am dieing to go back. Is this an informal run? Do you have anymore info?

Steve Sharp is leading a group from Extreme 4 Wheelin' that weekend. The plan is an overnight 'camp on the trail' run.

My truck won't be ready for that weekend (at least with the capability of handling serious stuff)... Plus I can't be gone 2 weekends in a row without serious consequences! :D

DAMMIT!! Once again another trip to Clayton, or any trail for that matter, and the Ducky is once again, not done. 454 is being built as we speak, (actually as I find time and $$$ to build it), got my transmission... and I've gotta rob another 711 to pay for the Atlas II. Besides that, the Ducky is ready to go...

Bri, you wanna help me wire my 4.3 (with the painless harness), I would love to try it out up there!!! I still dont have crossover steering yet (be breaking some drag links!!!), so who knows what will happen!! I talked to a guy on the Toy board about getting some of his gear, it looks real clean, and hopefully will be in the ballpark, will be out $3000 for this motor swap once the exhaust gets done and I pay sunray to install the output shaft in the tranny, and mod it for the vss.

I'm going over tomorrow to help him cut the front half of his frame off. The Rockwells have played hell on the old 1/2 ton frame, so he's built a new section that will also incorporate the 203-205 dual case! However, It's marginal if he can get it done in time. If not, he'll be leading with the Suburban! :rasta:

Most of the group that's committed will be mild (31-33's and partial locked). Therefore, I expect the trial choices will be conservative. However, I have been wanting to run Snake Pit for a while, so I may have to take a detour during the day... :D :D

i have a group going and i will be meeting up with gunracer1 and skeetshooters group. i don't know about everyone else but i like the hard stuff and that is what i plan to run. i am ready to put this vortec and th400 through the ringer. who ever wants to go lets get a plan. i will be going up on friday and coming back sunday evening.

wngrog, i have a buddy who has some pic's of you at 360. i recognized your fj. he was in a red, lengthened, exo-caged sami, running waggy d44's and 36 sx's. he will be going too.

we usually camp at the state park camp gound so we'll be there that weekend. this will be an informal run so anyone is invited. i have a lengthened orange and black cj5 with a 60 front and 14bolt rear on 38.5 sx's. look for me. :D

I'll be up there on the 16th also... The truck won't be in its "Moab-ready" form, but at least I'll get to finally wheel it with the TBI conversion and see how it fares... (I'll be sure to bring an extra couple #$%@ GM ignition modules)

Last time I blew the tranny in my truck in Joplin. Drove my bronco home until the unbalanced swampers finally worked the steering loose.

i just can't think of any reason i would want to run snake pit again. that got old after the first 100 yards. we will more than likly hit 3 stage, rock creek, power line, and many more of the cross over trails that present themselfs. but its skeet shooters birthday and we are going to let him make the call. but knowing him they will be fun, and i would suggest at least one locker and a complete disregard for sheet metal. o and if some one gets offened buy a beer on the trail. don't come! jesse says he's is bringing a keg for mckinnly rock.

eveyone is invited, including wifes, kids, jeeps in that order. yea i did that for you brian. we will be easy to spot mine is the grey and white land cruiser that just a little bigger than brians jeep.yea that makes my sticker thicker. can't wait

Hell Yeah! I will be travelling with Inphobic From KC. I am ancious to try out my new rig. Just got An early bronco set of 9" and dana 44 in my 89 YJ! Plus Spooled and 35 Boggers ;) Probably will lincoln lock the front 44 for now since I need an entire new carrier for when I regear. plus Just got another 258 under the hood.......Clayton here we come. Never been To Clayton, only Disney. How does it compare?

We are working furiously over here in east Texas to get our rigs repaired, (i.e. REBUILT for skeetshooter)

I have to work out a few fuel system problems, and front spring issues and I will be ready. Hell, I'll be ready whether I get it all fixed or not. I'm getting used to breaking down on the trail anyway.

Ill be ready , three more days off and I should be done, gotta get it done tho the old lady is getting real sick of me spending 12 hours a day in the shop. .

Is this trip still on? How far south of Tulsa is it? I am guessing that not everyone will be camping.Some will be wheeling on Sat.only? Is there going to be a meeting place and time? Sorry for all the Qs never been there and I don't want to mess out!:D

It is still on, talked to gunracer & skeetshooter on the phone today, everyone has almost got their junk back together.

We will all be gathering at the Clayton Lake State Park campgrounds Friday evening, and heading to the trails from there Saturday morning.

Clayton is on HWY 271 North of Antlers. Semi-close to McAlester.

I would say sometime between 7:30 and 9:00

Just drive like a mad man Friday night and get to the campgrounds, catch a few zzzzzzzzzzz's in the truck, wake up when you here the commotion and the smell of gear oil, unload your rig and follow the convoy to the trail.

We try our best NOT to stick to a schedule, that's what works for.

i am pretty sure if you get on channel 4 on the cb you will get a holt of one of us.

we are going to be there for sure, but i told brian that we were going to be in the front of the camp grounds, but i talked to jesse last night and he reserved the spaces all the way in the back by the bath rooms. its right where you and i were talking about the other day. all the way back on the left hand side. across the low water crossing. mike

I would take a look at the land closure post, it deals with most of the cool trails, and involves jess's camp ground, we have to move fast to protect our hobby, hell if they take this away, hardcore wheeling on clayton is almost extinct, lotsa easier trails still there though.

Where is the camp ground some people are talking about? Is this the place where Sam's Offroad does the line up for there can food run? I am heading down friday night and have not decided where to stay, if there is going to be a bunch of people at one camp site are others welcome to crash the party?

the clayton lake state park campgrounds are just south of town, you can't miss it on a map. its not the rodeo arena at the fair grounds. just ask around once you get there, high 5 rig is a big ass cj 5 that has been streched out sitting on 38s and you can't miss my cruiser
