I always figured proper shackle angle mimiced those of stock shackles but the other day a friend was asking me about proper shackle angle and we got in an argument about it. So i searched the threads and people never actually say what proper angle is they normally just say proper shackle angle.

Proper for what?
The primary and over riding concern is that the shackle length and angle allow for the full range of spring motion during compression and droop. A secondary concern is the contribution of shackle angle to spring rate or "ride quality". This effect depends on the curvature of the spring and is fairly complicated, but it is relatively small compared to the spring rate.

there is no proper shackle angle its all your own preference on how u want the ride to be and your flex to be
