Dana 44 inner pinion bearing

Did a search and could not find what I was looking for (trying not to be THAT noob).

Trying to install the inner pinion bearing race into a brand new dana 44 housing (rubicon dana 44 rear). The race will only go in about half way and then refuse to go any further. The race is brand new timken.

Anyone know what diameter the bore in the housing should be for the inner pinion bearing? I want to measure and make sure its not off. I am assuming it should be around 2.98 given that the bearing race is 3.00.

Did you try freezing the race and have it pressed in???

Tried freezing the race which did not help. Did not try pressing it in. Trying to avoid hauling the axle housing over to a machine shop to have it done.
