Was just wondering if you have replaced that bodt mount that you cut out to install the power steering? Are you gonna? Oh, yeah one more. How many feet of tube did it take to make your cage? Gonna be making one pretty soon and just wanted to get an idea of how much tube I am gonna need, thanks man!

Here's how one guy did it.

Hey nuttzack, do you have any pics of your Zuk on 37's?

I have replaced the mount yet but it's held so far, however I've only run two trails. As far as the pic goes, I moved the front axle forward about 1.5" and I run All-Pro Hysteer arms so we had to move the steering box forward as well to keep the tie rod and drag link for hitting one another. With the box forward front mount and that piece of tube had to come off the frame. We also relocated the front spring hangers while we at it.

Cage work, if you plan on using the factory hoop you shouldn't need more than 1 stick, however If you make it 2 sticks you should have plenty.

Well I am glad to see it's holdin for ya. I moved my axle 12" forward from stock, so I will be mounting the box on my frame extensions. I might be able to work around the mount, but I think I will need to chop it like yours. I'm not gonna use the stock hoop, so I will probably need 2 sticks. Is a stick 20'? And did use use dom or erw on yours? I know that erw would be fine, but I have never bent tube before and I am worried about breaking the weld on the erw, and stronger is always nicer:) Thanks man!

Stick=20'

It's holding well and time will tell, as for tube Tin Bender and I used 2"x.120 wall ERW. I wouldn't worry about the seam as long as you keep it to the inside of the bend, although your not going to use very much tube so the cost on the cage wouldn't be that much. You might get the cost on both DOM and ERW, One thing to think of. Some of the Ralley work we've done allows a car under 2500lbs to use 1.5"x.120 wall DOM for the cage, so with that in mind 2" DOM would serious over kill for a Zuk at low speeds. :)

Yeah, I know its overkill, but 1.5 looks to skinny to me, 1.75 costs more than twice the price around her, and 2" looks beefy + cheaper than 1.75 tube.

I didn't say it's over kill, I used 2" for mine. We wouldn't use any less...:D
