My 73' series III smokes too much. Runs great but a blueish smoke comes out the tail pipe. I was thinking I might have a stuck valve. I was thinking of pouring sea foam down the carb. Any ideas/recommendations?

Sounds like a blown oil ring in one of you're pistons.

Do a compression check. Then run another compression check, but first squirt some motor oil into the combustion chamber. If the compression is higher the second time, then you have a blown oil ring. Also look at you're spark plugs and compare all 4 of them.

Great thanks... pull the spark plug and squirt oil right in the chamber through the sp hole?

Valve stem seals

If the valve stem seals are worn you usually just get a puff/cloud of blue smoke on startup, not continuously. But if they are completely shot it could be worse I suppose.

I secong the oil ring - It can't be the compression rings though otherwise you would be pressurising the sump and oil would be going everywhere inside the engine bay (more than usual).

if compression test is bad do wet test also a leakdown test is helpful to indicate where the leak is coming from, rings valves
