I'm having trouble deciding if this guy's front suspension is cool/gay/ghetto/innovative/a sign of things to com/or just plain crap.

It does seem to flex well.

If I was buying off the parts list it sounded like a good deal, however once I looked at the pictures I second guessed myself.

:shaking: ya thats cool I love it when the front axle in my truck moves forward about 8in when I flex, might need a sway bar :flipoff2:

I bet that with a buggy spring set-up and a shakle reversal that front end is ALL over the place. PLus, how much do you think the front pivot cuts off of the approach angle?

for all the components you get sounds like a good price[flat top knuckles, axels, etc.]nice motor, but should be fully rebuilt.suspention looks like it wouldnt hold up for long, also didnt see a turbo in there

Isnt that the guy who had the vegetable oil diesel or something. I think his name was Kerry or something like that. He was out of North Texas and then moved and fell off the face of the earth.

I give him a 9 for creativity on the front end. I never would have thought of that..

Looks scary, and trying to hard for front flex. If you are going to make a choice, popular wisdom seems to be to let the back handle it.

dunno, buy it and run it. Post up if you survive.

That's Perry - not the first one to try the pivot either. Buy it for the VW1.6td with Toyota trans adapted alone. Or try the pivot out. Those aren't the most current pics. Less flex in front, more in back now.

tim porter from hardcore 4x4 out of ohio did the front pivot idea a few years ago. didn't think much of it then either.

I was thinking the same thing.
He used some of the exact same pics a couple of years ago that is in the e-bay ad. I wonder how high the weeds are around it now.

I wonder why it doesn't have a front drive shaft???????? Maybe because it would be imposible to keep one in.

I especially like the special rusty metal effect on the roll cage and shift levers. Wonder how he managed to make it look so realistic. Guys who do work like that probably do a fanstastic job with the rebuild on the top end of the 1.6L VW turbo.

I bet that with a buggy spring set-up

I usta drive a Peugeot 403. It was a quality car. It had the front suspension like a independent-rear on a 'Vette. Or maybe a Model A or T? A transverse leaf spring. It was anchored in the middle and formed the lower control arm for the front wheel. It had a nice clean upper A-arm for control. Flex like crazy! Soft ride too. Handled good.
