Hey guys,

I need to find a new set of headers for a '76 Ford f-150 with a 390. It has sucky, cheapy headers that hang to low and have a warped flange. Anyways, enough bitterness!

I would like to find a good set of headers that would allow me to run the exhaust inside the frame and up out of the way. I have thought about trying a set of Thorley outside the frame headers though with big tires and little lift they will not work. Can anyone think of something? I don't really want to go to cast manifolds because they are so restrictive.

Ive got a set of hooker compition headers for my 390 they will let it breath nicely!!! Im still redoing it with a full CJ upper half. Is it a 2 bbl or 4 bbl engine??

Happen to have any pics of a set installed. I really want to keep stuff from hanging down below the frame.

The motor is a fairly stock 390 originally a 4bbl motor. I ended up installing a 500cfm 2bbl on it in college. With a mild cam, port macthing, and headers it had GREAT power with 35s and 3.73s. It got good mileage too...about 14-17 highway.

Now though, with 42s planned in the near future and the crap headers I have started looking for another motor to build. I really like the bompproofness of the 390, though they are getting a little hard to find :( I think for the meantime a set of headers and a new exhaust tucked up out of the way will be ok.

If you have any pics let me know. I might try and find a set of blockhuggers or cast headers from a 427 ( I wish! ) Thanks for the help

Well on a pre fitting before I boared it 80 over they were even with the frame but mine is a 2wd that is being converted to a 4wd.
