: Clocked D300 question

I've bolted in the new 4.0L and AX-15 in my CJ-7, and I went to install my D300 with the Novak adaptor only to discover that the adaptor clocks the t-case up to nearly horizontal. Novak failed to mention this to me when I bought it. No big deal, and kind of a nice little bonus, but it's not something I'd planned on. My question is how do I bend the t-case shifter? Right now it's interfering with the tranny shifter. All of the linkages clear, with about a 1/2 inch of room. Would heating it up with a propane torch and bending it by hand do the trick, or is something more drastic called for? Also, I'm guessing that the case itself is going to interfere with the floor pan, even using a 1 inch body lift. Will liberal use of a BFH work, or do I need to cut the floor pan and weld in a new section?
Thanks for any help with the tub and motor swap from hell.

If it's just the shifter then heat and bend that bad boy. I haven't done this swop but I know you can make a shifter look like an "S" if you want to.
On the floor pan: modifiy the floor. BFH:D or you could cut it out and raise the floor. I would say that a flat transfer is a good thing. Just my $.02:D

I cut my floor but i have no body lift, a good way tho massage the floor is to jack the jeep up put a jack stand where the shifter of the 300 will hit then lower jeep. Voila it will fit (if you only need a little room)

hehe, I think novak screwed up! I ordered a clocked adapter for an nv4500-d300, when I got it it wasn't clocked, and I got instructions for an ax-15 to dana 300. It even said on my receipt that it was clocked. I wonder if they clocked yours instead of mine? did you get nv4500 installation instructions? does it say how many degrees it was clocked on your receipt?
