The tags are missing off mf diff, and have not been able to figure out what kind of gears I have. I heard something about raising the back end, marking the tire and drive line, and counting rotations. Any one know the formula, or a better way?

Count how many revs. your drive shaft makes for one full turn of your tire. Its not exact but its close.

Like Dennis said, close. You can also decode your VIN # to find the ratio, assuming all is still stock. hth

Thanks for the tips, but does it matter what size tire and rim i'm running?
tire and rim don't make a difference.

you hafta have 1 tire on the ground and spin the othe(off ground) twice and count the drivesaft turns it takes two revolutions because of the spider gears.
