Hello Everyone, I am new to this forum and I saw a post about built TJ's so I figured why not. I am in the middle of a YJ buildup which consists of: 40" swampers, 1 tons and 105" of wheelbase. I would just like to see what other people have built similar to what I am working on.

I'm kinda diggin the look of the B pillar on the cage that blue YJ has, may have to do something like that when I build the new cage for mine in a couple weeks. Any more shots of the whole cage? Looked through your albums but didnt see any clear ones without the bikini top on.
Thanks.

I don't have any other pics of it right now. But the Dark Blue TJ in the pics has the same exact cage in it. There are some decent shots of that one.
if you want look up Bill Shcueler (thats his member name) from Jagged Extreme and email him he owns both jeeps and built both cages.

Buba what springs did you end up using?
actually, I don't know. They were already pulled, laying on the ground next to a F150 I was about to canabalize. Best I can recall they are 2-3" longer and 1 leaf thicker than F150 springs. They also had an overload leaf which I tossed.
I moved my spring hangers 3" forward and still gained 6" of WB. My shackles pivot off my rear bumper.
Hopefully, I'll be building a 4-link before my rear leafs wear out.

It's a metal fence gate parts left over from putting a fence around the pool hybrid grill to you, sir. :D
Actually there is no grill... that's the radiator with a frame made from afore mentioned fence drops and a radiator hoop for protection. It's the latest rage! There's a photo of this rig in the issue of 4wheel drive sport utility rag seconds before impact as it endo backwards in las cruces last year...

Not as bad ass as some of the other YJ's on here, but it's getting there.. only got SOA D44's F&R, 38" SX's, ARB/Detroit, blah blah blah

The more I see the H2 wheels on rigs, the more I like em. Did you have to bore out the center holes to fit over the 60 hubs? Thought I read that somewhere, but dont have any confirmation. Thinking about trying to find a set to replace my steelie 17's.

Chevy dana 60 (front) hubs fit through H2 wheels. Fords (front or rear) do not. On my HP60 I had the hubs turned down to match the OD of the GM hubs, allowing the wheels to fit. Otherwise you could bore the center of the wheels, but I wanted to be able to use an unmodified stock (cheap) wheel.

About .200". This was on '91 HP60 hubs, and I had them turned down to match the 14 bolt, so the stock H2 wheels would fit. It was only near the flange, as the hub bodys are tapered. Only had to turn it out about 1" from the wheel mount surface.

BlueJeep,
Thanks for the info. I have 2 hubs from a '95 and 2 hubs from an unknown year (using them all around). I am going to have a look at my right rear (unknown year) as I remember the lugnuts tightening down harder than the other three. I appreciate the heads up.
BlueJeep
11-11-2004, 02:28 PM
What size were the lug nuts? That will narrow it down a little. '78-79 were 1/2", and 85.5 up were 9/16". I'm assuming they're 9/16" too, since your fronts would obviously be.

What size were the lug nuts? That will narrow it down a little. '78-79 were 1/2", and 85.5 up were 9/16". I'm assuming they're 9/16" too, since your fronts would obviously be.
9/16". Thanks for the info.

question for wallysheata, are your 60's narrowed? whats your width outside to outside with the h2's?
wallysheata
11-17-2004, 03:54 PM
Stock 91 Dodge 60's 68" wms to wms front and 66" wms to wms rear. With the H2's i belive i'm around 78" outside of tire to outside of tire, the downside to the H2's is i'm still rubbing on the leaf springs at full lock  and my hubs up front stick out about 1.5" past the wheel causing them to hand up a LOT on rocks. I've probably snapped 6-7 hubs just from bashing them on rockes :(
*edit* i'd be MORE than willing to trade ANYONE my H2's plus some $$$ for some 17x8 wheels with min of 4" backspacing, hell once i find some wheels you guys can HAVE my h2's.....seemed like a good idea but now that i've run em for a season, can't wait to ditch em

The "Show" Stinger worked out well in that roll didnt it? I took a quarter size paint blimish on the hood, wrinkled an already wrinkled fender (which is now tubed) and put a little dent in the windshield frame. :flipoff2:

yeah, i cruise that board pretty often, i was up in clayton on monday but didn't get very far, i sheared all the studs off my high steer arm and spent all day fixing it enough to get it back on the trailer. The next major deal we are goin to is the Chili Challenge out in las cruces next month. its always a good time. Might go out to deleon before then, we'll see.

Haha, I've actually been trying to figure out a way to cut mine down to just the plate and make a little bar out of it. My girlfriend gave me mine for my birthday two years ago and I loved it then, but now it gets in the way sometimes, she'd flip a shit if I cut it down so im leaving it unbraced in hopes of bending it backwards
