NEC Question: Panels & Subpanels

Is there a minimum distance required between the panel and the first fixture, switch, etc?

I'm looking to put a couple of outlets close to my new subpanel, IE welder outlet 1' and 20A 120v outlets probably within 5'.

Problems?

The only thing I can think of is that you need 36" of clearance in front of the panel for access. I don't think there is a minimum distance to any outlet or j-box.

Thanks, I can't think of any reason why you'd need a min. distance, but...

You could have an outlet box mounted to the side of the panel if it fit.
