I know the ZJ coils from a V8 will lift my XJ and is a cheaper route to go then buying OME coils. But can I use the ZJ rear coils on the rear of my 88 XJ and covert it over to a rear coil setup? I searched and didnt find much of anything othr then custom setups that is generic for any rig... I dont intend on using this as a hardcore rock rig... but thought maybe the coils in the rear would grant a better ride and offer good offroad performance.

if you can't remotely answer the second question you asked I wouldn't even think about doing it. can you naem the parts that would be involved? can you weld?

Well... This is my first jeep. I have owned other rigs and modified them on my own. This is a different animal. Subframe and shorter wheel base then other wagons I have owned. I can name all the parts needed. I dont trust my own welds when it comes to rigs... but my neighbor is a professional welder and does the work for me. I guess I really just wanted to know who has done this and if the swap was worth it. And any pics that could be had... and other stuff people normally ask when it comes to mods on a rig. I havent been around XJ's or ZJ's enough to know if the subframes are similar in the rear and any issues involved in welding up the mounting brackets needed. I intended to just use a rear axle from a ZJ being it's setup for coils and has disc brakes. Im still searching for info on the conversion but thought I'd at least ask here.
thanks
