I have searched and seen it mentioned. I am looking for a specific parts list from anyone that has done this swap... Thanks

i also researched this, not sure if the best way is go ahead and swap a 4.3 or something in front of it, or keep the 2.5. i don't know how well the 2.5 takes to being a 4 speed on the road...

Novak doesn't do it. I am still researching and have it just about figured out. When I do it, my jeep will finally be a trailer whore. :D

I've been running a 435/bronco d20 behind my 2.5 for about 6mths now. combined w/ the inertia ring its hard to stall. She doesn't get on the road but maybe a few miles, but it not nice. I've have not hook up a speedodmeter, so i don't know what kind of speeds. The whole pulse to mech. thing setting me back, but i hear of a place Nevada Speed. that has covertor.
A fellow in Jackson, MS machined the front of the 435 flat and tapped it according to the ax5 bellhousing. i'm using the ax5 bearing retainer and throuout. its 94. so its external. Have heard of issues with same setup but internal setup. Clutch 82 mustang w/ 3.3L had a 9in disc w/ 10 spines.

Ive been runnin a 2.5/np435/np231 for a little over two years now. It works well wheelin as long as you dont need much wheel speed. I used the stock external clutch setup, with a stock pressure plate and throwout bearing. The disc is 80s mustang and the pilot bushing was one that matched the inner and i had the outer turned down.I bought an adapter from AA, they do make one, its a modified nv4500 plate. Talk to Mike Partridge, he can fix ya up. You have to get a 435 with a 10in long input shaft or buy one. I bought one for about $100 from a drivetrain place. I used the AA 435/231 adapter, which I redrilled to clock the t-case up flat, made my own mount so my skid is now flat except for where the mount is.It was a worthwhile swap, even with all the adapters and tranny i had less in it than a reman ax5. I have some pics somewhere of the plate if you need any.

And by the way, the inertia ring is definitely worth it.

I talked with Mike today. He is a super guy. I am going a little different route. NP-435/203/dana20. I am running 5.89's. I am on 35's now. I am going to 37's...
Here's what I have found out. My stock tranny/t-case=39 inches. NP-435/203/d20=37.5 inches with adapters... No need to move the engine forward!
Any pics or info you have would very greatly be appreciated. Thanks guys.

It's a 420, not a 435, but it's a start...

I like the 420. What isn't there to like about 7 to 1 first gear? I don't like the fact that replacement parts are hard to get. (if not, most are no longer available) Trust me, I work for the railroad, 2 1/2 ton tranny or not, I can and will tear it up... My other gripe about the 420 is that no matter what I do, I will have to adapt anything to it. If push come to shove, I could throw a 435 and a 205 under the jeep and make it work for now. There are just more options with the 465 or 435... Oh yeah, the 435/203/20 combo is around two inches shorter than my stock junk that is sye.
