That you Allen????? Good news, you keeping it...............

What brand did you get on the lift?

Tips - make sure you have EVERYTHING in advance..........including the u-bolts, brake lines (if you lift it in the 4" range), everything you can think of BEFORE you start taking it apart. Make sure you have a torque wrench that goes up to 150 lbs for the u-bolt nuts.

PM me on CK5 for more detail when you get it in..............did you get rear springs or blocks?

dont forget the BIG:flipoff2: HAMMER for the steering arm...

Lots of penatrating oil the night before...

Do some chinese water torture with penatrating oil on it...
You wont regret it...

Straight axle suspension lifts are a snap. Take the advice on the penatrating oil, it will make life much easier.
While your into the lift do yourself a favor and check the area around the steering box. This area has a tendancy to crack if you run larger tires. I have seen few chevys that haven't been cracked.......
An impact wrench also work wonders in the removal process, but I would strongly recommend you don't use it for ressembly....:skull:

Yes...it's me Frank! It is great news, I decided I am too in love with the damn thing to sell it, so I took out the "For Sale" signs and ordered a lift!

I ordered the Tuff Country 4" kit w/ everything, including rear springs! so I shouldn't have a problem with things that I forgot to get.

I should have the kit this week, but I won't be installing it for a week or two...Bummer huh? I have to save a couple more paychecks to make a down payment on tires and rims. I am ordering Eagle Alloy series 58 wheels and some Goodyear MT/R's, size is not yet decided! Since I'm running 3.73 gears, I think I'm gonna stick with 33x12.5's for now! BTW...CK5 isn't working too well for me right now, it takes forever to load, and I don't have the patience to deal with that. Do you have IM??

It came today! Looks like everything's in good order! I will hopefully be starting on it tomorrow night. I need some better descriptions on how to remove the old steering arm, I'm a little bit confused on that part of it. Other than that, I hope to have it mostly done by sunday. Thanks for all the help guys, it's wonderful to have a source such as this to turn to!

Ahhh. the wonderful steering arm. All I remember is penetrating oil, Small sledge hammer, penetrating oil, bigger sledge hammer, my brother and his jeep buddy laughing, Me swearing a lot, more penatrating oil, more hammering, the three of us rotating on the hammering for about two hours and then voila-- it popped right off.
What a pain in the arse!

I hope yours isn't as much or a pain. Of course my truck had endured 17 salt saturated winters in western New York and was really just one big plie of rust.

Good choice on the lift. I had a 4"tuff country on that old K10 and will put the same (or maybe 6") on the K5 when I get that far along.
