Anyone have any nice pics of a metal storage rack? I want to be able to hang long 20'ers as well as something to hold smaller stuff...

any pics or ideas?

You mean piles all over aren't acceptable?

I made some racks from 1" x .120" wall square tube. They are about 3 ft tall and 1 ft. wide. The metal slides in from one direction instead of being able to pull it directly out but that is okay the way I have it setup. Heres a pic

On the wall, behind the Scout, you'll see some metal uprights.

Bought 'em at Home Depot. They're mounted to the studs.

I then bought some "slide/snap" in shelf brackets. The big 22"-ers with a lower support (seen at the top row) are IIRC rated to 600lbs.

The wall the uprights are on is about 27' long inside dimensions.. long enough for a full stick of anything.

I plan to move and adjust the slotted brackets (available in 11" through 22" depth) to accomodate my steel stock needs.

If round tubing starts to think about rolling off the brackets, I'll just build up a little "hook" on the outside end to keep it from falling out.

I already use it to hold a stick or two of angle I bought for some trailer fender building, and a few areas are holding some "shorts" of 2-4' in length.

I am going to be storing the metal inside the building. Hanging or just a normal rack. Only thing i am thinking about is how much weight each might hold.

We used 2x2 with 2x2 welded as outrigers tp hpld the tube. there are a total of 5 each with 3 out riggers at the same height. They anchor to the concrete block wall and to the floor.. Look behind the zuk and you can srt of make it out. We have had a as much as 60 sticks up there + cut off and a 24' 2x5 1/4" wall
