I just last week received my copy of bendtech ez3d, and have a little question about it. I just now this morning tried to run it, and realized it will not run without the cd in the drive.
This creates a problem for me, as another piece of software I have also requires the cd in the drive. Personally, if I would have known this i may not have ordered it, I just hate having to pull a cd out when the software is on the machine. I have heard from some it guys, there can be workarounds for this problem, some kind of way to copy the cd to a directory on the HDD and make the software thinkg the cd is in the drive. anyone heard of this? Any other way?
if not I guess i will live with pulling the cd each time, but it is kind of a pain. My other software that requires this i have no choice but to use, it is the only one that does what I need, this bend tech is kind fo the same way, haven't seen anything else out there like this. Sure would like to find a way to make it work. Plus save the original from damage since the machine I use it on is out in the shop. Has anyone tried to make a duplicate of the cd, just to use while the original is put up in a safe place? did it work?
Brian.

I have no idea how to do it on a Windows box, but what you need to do is make an image of the disk (would be an .iso) and then find a program to mount that image as an external disk without ever having to use the disk.

maybe search shareware.com for image mounting.

It will probably get answered pretty quickly.

I did. Already recieved a call from Cris, and seems my problem is solved. That has to be one of the fastest customer service calls I have recieved, and the easiest to deal with.

So how do you do it?

Cris is fixing it in a way that will be safe for him (protects his software), and easier for me. I think he may be making this a regular part of the software now, he would be the one to ask.

Brian,

You should be all set. If you need anything else, just yell.
