all the local parts stores only have the universal kinds and they don't fit right. i would think this would be a common replacement piece. the only poly ones i found were for tierod ends. anyone?

is there a difference between the tierod ends on a tierod and the tierod ends on a draglink in regards to the rubber boot?

yes they are different. at lest on the bottom (wide) part. the tie rod is aound 1 1/2"- to 1 5/8" where the drag link is 1 7/8". i went to the Energy Suspension web site and you can order ones in custome sizes. just seems lame that you can't get them off the shelf somewhere.

i have been wondering that same thing for years but never asked i end up going to the junk yard and pulling some tres off with a gear puller instead of a fork to salvage extra boots-- so does any one know where to but new ones--someone is making them

The parts makers will get you on that one, the only way you can get a boot is by ordering a new tierod end or drag link. :skull:

That is why I bought a nifty little tie-rod remover made by OTC.
It is a lot easier to use than a pickle fork and it does not damage the boot. It cost me $50 but I figure that if I use it 2 times I will be money ahead.
I used it for the fist time to remove the drag link from Shannons D60, it popped it off the arm in no time.

I got it from the Cornwell dealer that shows up at my shop.
It normaly sells for $75 but it had been on his truck for a long time and I was the only one who had been interested in it so he sold it to me for $50.
NAPA can get OTC tools. I don't have a part # but it is called a universal tie rod press/remover, for cars and light duty trucks.

why not just bash whatever the tie rod end is in with a good blow with a 4lb hammer. usually pops them loose.

That is usualy the first thing I do is to crack the sides a few times,
Sometimes it doesn't work though, especialy if someone used too much never-seez.
