Ok, I am going to be putting crossover steering on my dodge dana 44, which already has flat top knuckles. I have a new set of 3 9/16" studs and cone washers from Dana. I also have a factory 2wd dodge steering box ready to bolt up. Now here are my Q's...

What are the dimentions on the crossover steering arm, because I plan on just making some of my own with some scrap metal (got just about everything) and cut it on the mill. I plan on pulling the drivers arm off and flip it for the correct points of the holes on the knuckle and such. Now, does the arm have an angle on it to match the angle on the flat top knuckle, or is it flat and just sit at an angle.. I am guessing it sits and an angle, and the studs also go in at a slight angle.
As for the drag link...
I was thinking I would just get 2 lengths of DOM tubing that can fit inside of each other for greater strength. Now should I make them to have some sort of adjustment into them, or will the ends be what I want, or??
Now for the ends, I was thinking I should use the ends that are used on the tie rod of chevy dana 60 fronts.. and re-drill the steering arm on the steering box to accect these ends upside down for better angles. Will that work?

Now this is the Picture for the dana 60 axle, but it is a pic of the dana 44.. Now, do I want #1, the outer tie rod, or #3, the inner tie rod?
Also how should I hook these up to the drag link?

Thanks for the help

Go to Billavistas steering site, it has everything you could want in regaurds to steering info,......well except for my(Eric Ruhls) new super trick, behind the diff tie rod steering set up.

http://billavista.tripod.com/Steering/Research/steeringresearch.html

You can find most of this stuff if you do a search, but then we wouldnt be able to say "Fawkin Newbie" do a search

Actually, that is a pic of a 10 bolt since it has the long tie rod tube and not one long tie rod end and a short adjusting tube like D44s and D60s have. Your steering setup depends on how your rig is set up.

If you just want crossover, you need to use both drag link ends (3 & 3) for your drag link. And you can keep your tie rod the way it is.

PM me if you need some help making the links.
