I just picked up a rolled 2000 Dakota, 4.7 automatic.

I believe this is the same setup as the Grand cherokee, will this driveline accept an Atlas T-Case? I havent had time to call Advanced adapters yet, just figured I would ask some experts

Thanks,
Ryan

ummmm, yup.

They will need the input shaft spline count. As far as bolting it up,,,they make adapters:D you may need to fab up a bracket and modify you shafts though.

Well, you SHOULD have a NP 231 transfer case and it PROBABALLY has the same bolt pattern as others... now as for will it fit.. yes... anythign will fit... now.. I wanna know what the specs are gonna be when it is all done... the whole idea of popin in an atlas just leads me to believe better stuff is under there (like bigger axles, SAS up front, etc). Anyway, tell us whats goin down...

The t case I think is an NP247 BTW... but no matter, I have the info I need to see if it will work.....

This weekend I found a 2000 dakota, that has been rolled very hard, the guy had just put it in the paper, and I was the first to contact him, he said he would rater sell the whole thing. I go and check it out, it has 20K on it, and I put a battery in, and it started, had oil pressure, all good! I paid 2000 for the dakota.

The stripdown has begun. I am keeping the harness all togeather with the engine, labeling everything, taking my time. Now I just need a platform to paint the picture on. I will get the atlas II and most likely tera 60Rs. I have a great connection on King coilovers ($300 a piece on dual coil remote reservoir). I am thinking of using a pickup, but it needs to be something I can readily get body parts for, since this will be used most likely in competition. Thanks for the tips.

Wow Ryan!!! Sounds like you got a damned good deal there!!!
What kinda rear axle did it have underneath? If it came with the towing package, it had the 9.25", otherwise, the 4.7 engine came with the 8.25".
The larger is obviously gonna be useful to you. :)
And you said it was "rolled badly", how bad?
I assume there probably isn't any salvageable sheet metal right? How were the rims/tires? If you're lookin, i'll let you know of a couple Dakota hang-outs on the net that you could sell whatever you're not going to use.
Good luck!!!
