I just heard that after 2002 the F250's only came with D60 fronts... I always thought that the 250s had D50s up front...I'm all confused... which is true??? How can I check???

Beginning in 02 all Super Duties got D60 fronts, not just duallies. They are still unit bearing so don't be that excited.

cartridge bearing.

same POS setup dodge has used since 94' along with jeeps since the 80's
dodge also used it in the 70's on he fulltime 4wd trucks.

they're also similar to FWD car bearings. non-servicable. when they go back, you gotta replace them.

old dodges with the dana 60 front axle and full time 4wd (HD 3/4 tons and 1 tons) still had regular bearings.

besides unit bearings, the d60s in the superduty also have :rainbow: ball joints instead of kingpins.

Yup, just had to spend $330 at NAPA for one, lifetime warr. though. I was out at Grayrock when it started going bad (4 hours from home). I thought it was the locking hub making the noise, but ended up being the hub bearing/assembly. I dont see why they are not rebuildable. On the back it says do not dissasemble. WTF!!!!! The ABS model is cheaper, of course I have 2 wheel ABS, so it was more. :mad3:

Mine is a 2000 with the D50 up front. Like someone else said they did change to the D60.

I have a 99 F350, so mine is still a D50 right? Was it only the DRW trucks that had the a D60 up to 2002? thanks, Judd

if unit beraing are so bad why does the majority of top crawlers run them without many issues?

All F350-550's Had Dana 60 Fronts

So you should have a Dana 60 Front.

F250 SD's till 02 got D50's, 02-Current Are all Dana 60

SRW F350's got the D50 until 2002 also.
You can't look at it and tell, they use the same housing. The only difference between the 99-02 Super Duty 50 and 60 are the inner axles, R&P, carrier and bearings... The rest is the same.
