Is this capable of highway speeds? Reason I'm asking is I'm looking to re-gear my YJ to 4.56's with a very similar setup to this, but I also want to be able to drive it to the trails. I just don't want to go too low to the point that I have to run 55 down the highway to keep the engine in it.

um not with the tranny i have in it. Its a np435 so the gearing is pretty low. I havent taken it about 45 or so but the motor has some balls so i am sure it could. My buddy has a dodge on 35s with 4.56s and he does 90 all the time

I have a 85' CJ7 with 5.89 gears and no overdrive and I was going about 70 mph down the highway coming back from a Fordyce where I traded my 94' YJ for it. I don't have a tach or speedo but I wasn't buzzing too loud. :D
You should be fine with your yj especially if you have an overdrive gear. You'll probably want even deeper gears for 35's or so like 5.13 I have 37" mtrs with my rig. Still haven't wheeled it, just trade my YJ for it and my yj broke down and the CJ pulled me through a few miles of the trails, so I was more worried getting off the trail.

Didn't mean to hyjack your thread man, nice looking CJ at a great price. Let this serve as a bump to the top. :D
