ok I know nothing about the sami's so I am asking you guys. what year, model, etc. should I look for? to turn into a rock crawler. Are there ones that I need to stay away from? any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

pretty much all years are the same. The later models had EFI so that's a definate plus if you can find one with it.

The 86, 87 and early 88's had triangle hole wheels and round dash vents and such. The radio was under the bottom of the dash with really crappy mounts.

The 88.5 and up had round hole wheels and square dash vents. The radio was also moved up in the dash.

There were some other very slight changes, but not much that really make a significant difference other than EFI.

Get fuel injected if at all possible.:)

CKING I have been around all of them from 87 on up and there all good. Get one and have some fun!

the EFI ones are better(i'v never been able to find one) but i like every one........but try to avoid the pre-86', 86 are good and from there and newer but the 82-85 suzukis were 3" narrower and known to roll eaiser(i never found a differance) i had all years from 82-83-87-88-88.5 between me and my dad and we never rolled eather and didn't find the 82's any tipper

Anything past '90 will have fuel injection, but are a lot harder to find and are more expensive than earlier, carb'd models. Don't be too afraid of the Suzuki carb's, though; mine works very well ('88.5). Good luck! ~Steve
